Our family enjoyed a wonderful vacation at this property. The house is stocked with everything we needed, the property is beautiful and the kids enjoyed swimming, fishing and boating in the lake. Emma is a wonderful host with great communication as well. Thanks for making our end-of-summer trip a memorable one! 😊

We loved our stay. Emma was very accommodating. The kitchen had everything needed. Basement bedroom was lacking space for clothes other bedrooms were great. Nice to have 3 bathrooms. The lake and kayaks were great. Perfect for family.

Amazing place with a view that you cannot beat. The host was very communicative and helped me make last minute arrangements for our family dog to join us. Even met me to return some items I left behind. Swimming was great, kayaking and canoeing were awesome, but you can’t beat sitting in the lounger on the dock watching the sunrise. Trust me, you’ll love it! Thanks Emma! We’ll be back.

There was 4 couples that stayed in the cottage. It was the most accommodating place. Very beautiful, quiet spot. Had everything you needed and then some. Emma was amazing. Went above and beyond to make sure our stay was perfect. Which it was. We appreciated the kayaks and canoe available. Had some great morning canoes on the peaceful lake. I highly recommend this cottage. As well as host Emma

Slightly secluded with lake view and yet close to a beautiful Sandy beach to walk with children and canine. Plenty of space in the home to play or unwind…well stocked kitchen for culinary pursuits and comfy beds at the end of the day.

The property was very clean. The owner supplies you with everything you need. Lots of lovely teas and coffees, spices, condiments, even baking supplies, blueberries and ice. The home is spacious with everything you need and if you have children (we did not) there were lots of toys and activities. The lake is large and very clear. Highly recommend this property. Emma was very accommodating. The art work in the home is bright and cheerful as well.

My family and I visited this wonderful property for an extended Thanksgiving weekend. It was wonderful! Emma is an amazing host - greeted us in person, left us fresh berries, garlic, coupons for ice cream at the nearby market, and made sure we had everything we could possibly need to prepare a big turkey dinner with all the fixings! She provides a huge selection of loose tea and delicious coffee, and spices galore.
It was a fantastic place for family (from 2 to 87) to gather. We used the canoe and kayak to enjoy this pristine (and quiet) lake. It was a beautiful Thanksgiving, with memories to treasure! Thank you Emma!!

Emma was an amazing Host. Quick to answer any questions we had. All the necessities were already there plus more! More than enough room for the 5 of us. The tranquility was just what was needed. The lake was incredible and quiet. Perfect spot for kayaking and canoeing. Thank you Emma for allowing us to stay in your beautiful home.

Marvellous. Our host went above and beyond. We were fortunate to have great weather and with a Harvest moon we were actually able to see the lake-bottom at midnight. I really can't think of any constructive criticism at all . . .

Her home is a beautiful, peaceful, private get-away an hour from Halifax and easy to find.
Great retreat for a family get together. Plenty of room for six adults.
The entire house was impeccably clean and had EVERYTHING you could need. Very impressed!

The house is perfect with everything you need for a home from home stay.
The Lake is beautiful , with great access and superb views.
We stayed with another family and there was plenty of room to be together and apart.
The children (8months - 12years) and the dog had a fab time in the lake, playing games and finding the best peaches on the peach each tree.
We cannot wait for a return visit!

The stay was wonderful The house and location spectacular! We had a wonderful stay. Hated to leave. Host was amazing, she went above and beyond. House is amazingly stocked with so much to do. Relaxing and can’t wait to go back next year.

We managed to book the cottage during a bit of a heat wave. It was wonderful to hop in the lake whenever we wanted to cool down, or just sit there in the shade and get lost in a book, or enjoy the surroundings.
Emma was wonderful. She took the time to show us around and answer any questions we had. She pointed out many options in the area for activities or site seeing...but we never left the cottage...we had everything there that we needed!
If we weren't outside enjoying the lake, there were plenty of spots within the home to hang out, relax and enjoy (especially since there was air conditioning). It was nice just staying cool.
Also....if you like tea and enjoy birding this is the place to be. We must have seen (or heard) around 20 species of birds (the hummingbirds were a huge hit, along with the blue-headed and red-eyed vireos...not to mention the Eastern Wood-Pewee ...oh and the common loons)...and the tea selection was just as impressive:-).
..anyway...we enjoyed our stay and didn't want to leave.

Stayed here for a long weekend and really enjoyed the property. The house was spacious and fit 6 adults very comfortably. We loved spending days relaxing in the screened in porch and on the lake!

Heaven on Earth
We were two families vacationing together and this cottage was perfect for our group. Lots of space for everyone both inside and out, with toys, games, crafts for all. I only wish we could stay longer.
The lakeside was so tranquil and restorative after a hectic travel schedule. The owner was so lovely, very accommodating and easy to reach with questions. The neighbours were wonderful. We couldn’t have been more happy with this rental and hope to return one day.

This place was perfect for our gathering of 4 couples who like to do activities on the water. Lots of room in the cottage for various activities. The deck on the water was a fabulous place to sit after a kayak, swim or to drink your morning coffee.

Emma kindly moved her schedule to meet us and also got us a collection of local goodies. The tea selection and extras were incredible and everything you need for your stay is there. You could not ask for a better place for the family. My parents and family enjoyed the peace and quiet of the lake and dock. My sons loved the kayaks and painted rocks on a rainy morning. The location is perfect for day trips to Lunenburg, Mahone Bay and Bridgewater. Try a sunset sailboat ride to the Ovens and lighthouse in Lunenburg, it's worth every penny. Amos Pewter had a make your own pewter piece that was fun for all. A short trip to Rissers Beach was fun for an outing too. If you feel like a longer drive, a visit to see the world's most drastic tides at Burntcoat Head Park is a site to see. Be sure to come for low and high tide.

We had an amazing stay! A fantastic time was had by all from ages 7 to 78. There was something for everyone from the beautiful view to crafts for the kids. My youngest daughter enjoyed the swings by the water and my oldest loved drawing in front of the fireplace. There wasn’t one thing we needed that we couldn’t find easily. The location was great for making day trips to Lunenburg and Bridgewater and when we got back it felt so private. The best of both worlds! We will definitely be back in the summer to enjoy the lake when the temperature is warmer. Emma was a wonderful host and so wonderful to deal with. We will be back!

We loved that the bedrooms all had either queen or double beds and no twin beds. The view of the lake was so beautiful, especially with the snow falling. We were plowed out first thing Saturday morning after the snow and the wi-fi was great. Emma was a wonderful host, prompt to answer any questions I had prior to checkin. We would love to return in the warmer weather to explore the lake by kayak.

Emma was super to communicate with! Upone arrival, she welcomes up and had a well stocked kitchen full of essentials and then some! The children loved the art supplies, games and toys. There was plenty of space for our two families to enjoy some R&R. The views are lovely and the fireplace was a nice element for the winter escape. We highly recommend this place!

Heaven
I can’t say enough about our stay. The weather certainly contributed to that - 10 days of almost perfect weather - and for me that means hot and sunny. The lake was perfect for cooling us down as was the AC. The views were spectacular from morning to evening and we enjoyed the feisty hummingbirds and other birds. Emma’s check in was thorough and clear and then she left us to enjoy her home. We had a couple of questions which were answered right away. The kitchen was well stocked and we enjoyed the welcome goodies. Overall a great experience.

We had a wonderful week here in Camperdown on Minamkeak Lake. The lake is beautiful and very quiet. We felt like we were staying at a private lake because it was so calm and peaceful. We enjoyed seeing and hearing the loons. The house is very spacious. There is more than enough space for a large family and possibly two small families. The internet connection was great which was very important to my teenage daughter. Emma is an amazing hostesses who went above and beyond to make sure our stay was perfect. I highly recommend this place to anyone looking for a quiet vacation.
