Bujtina ZEMRA TRADITES

Hands down the best stay we had during our trip in Albania. The staff was incredibly friendly and helpful, we felt very welcome. We had to wait a little bit for our room to be ready when we arrived but we got offered free drinks while we waited. I got sick during our first night (food poisoning) and they let my partner take breakfast to our room so I could eat something if I felt better later during the day. We were allowed to leave our car at the parking while we were away for a 2 day hike. The room itself and the environment was amazing. We stayed in one of the little cabins, which was very cosy. The bed was super comfortable. We loved the peaceful environment; just the sound of nature around you, chickens, sheep,... It was lovely to just sit outside and relax. We will definitely come back here!

A bit awkward to not have the shower separated from the rest of the bathroom, because of which the entire floor is wet after a shower. But I guess this is something typical for Albania. So no complaint, just something to take into account if you stay here.

We stayed here for two nights after completing the Valbonë to Theth hike and to visit the Blue Eye, and it was the perfect base! It’s conveniently located close to the end of the trail and only around a 20 minute walk into Theth. The farm setting was absolutely beautiful, surrounded by mountains and the perfect place to sit outside and enjoy dinner. Both the dinner and breakfast were delicious. We stayed in one of the outdoor huts, which was cosy and warm even on a September night, with a great shower too. A beautiful setting, lovely food and really helpful staff! The perfect place to relax after the hike!

We had four wonderful nights at this family-run accommodation in the mountains. Andrea was absolutely fantastic: hardworking, always incredibly friendly, and very attentive. Given the logistical challenges of being in the mountains, breakfast was naturally quite similar each day, but there was a nice variety of pancakes and Albanian pastries. Something that isn’t advertised at all but is truly remarkable is how many of the products are local and homemade. Honey, jam, vegetables, meat, and sausages are all produced locally or in-house. We were also always provided with a generous packed lunch for our hikes, which was a lovely touch. The accommodation was clean and cozy. The shower was open within the bathroom due to the limited space, but we quickly got used to it. The views and the atmosphere don’t really need any description—they were simply breathtaking. As with most accommodations in Theth, the last kilometer is along a gravel road. However, we managed to get there without any problems in a Golf.

I liked the attention of the people who manage the accommodation. Also, the village is so charming and nice (you can have Stendhal syndrome). The breakfast is very tasty :)

I didn't like that the walk between the center and the accomodation but because we went with backpacks and the road is a little uphill, 30 minutes walking. Also, I found the cabin where we stayed a little small for the price paid. Also the bathroom is very small. While you shower the toilet and the toilet paper get wet.
