Himalaya Drishya Resort

The Himalaya Drisha Resort lies a little outside of Dhulikhel on a hillside facing north, in the direction of the Himalaya. The Hotel has a large main building an several smaller units with spacious rooms with balconies facing north as well. We were visiting in mid September and the monsoon time was not over, yet. Even though we had some days with rain, we twice had very good farsight and could see the majestic peaks of the Himalaya visible from Dhulikhel. The rooms are nicely furnished, the beds of very good quality. The main building was the place for breakfast and dinner - the latter had apart from a buffet offer also the possibility to eat a la carte, which we did four out of the five nights of our stay. The staff was very friendly and attentive: From umbrellas (yes, we needed them) to serving the meals and from cleaning the rooms to room service for food and beverages, all was well taken care of and we felt really at home.

The Himalaya Drishya Resort is a hotel in Nepal, a country that faces the transition from backpacker tourism to hosting guests also for other purposes. The standard of the Drishya Resort is a good quality, but don't expect a European five star hotel (even though they have an infinity pool :-) ). The value-for-money relation was good for us and we will definitely come back if we have further business to take care of in the area. SO: No real critizism, more a word of caution that e.g. on the road to the hotel the last 50 meters are unpaved, that breakfast coffee is not served from an integral machine with Italien beans and that in general visiting a hotel in Asia is different from the "Overtourism" in western countries.

View is great. Staff helpful.

Food could have more variety.

The view was spectacular, the facilities were great and breakfast offered varied options.

Getting there can be a bit challenging.

it was too noisy and with the price we paid, it was too disturbing that we had to call the reception line and informed them
