Great location, you are across from the White House, a couple of blocks from the Washington Monument, you can walk to every thing. Room was nicely decorated and clean. The roof top restaurant had opened air views of the city the White House and the Washington Monument, so the ambiance was a hit, the food was decent.
I’m sure that all the luxury hotels near or around the National Mall are equally expensive, so you get what you pay for, $$$$.
Valet parking was $80, and taxes and service fees bumped our stay to over $600 for the king room with a nice city view for one night.

the restaurant, location and service were good.
When searching for hotels it was listed as family friendly. The rooms were maybe big enough for 1 person. We could only open 1 suitcase at a time. There were 2 adults and 2 kids. The sink was small in diameter (miniature). There was very little space to put your things like makeup or a curling iron. It should not be listed as family friendly. I did ask for a bigger room and it would have increased to price by $75 per night and there wasn't one available. I thought I was booking the larger room, but it is hard to tell on the booking.com website.
