Location is great with tons of eateries, main boulevard (NanJing Rd.), very walkable

Was there 22 Jan to 27 Jan. Room got super hot + apparently, the windows have to be left open to bring in the fresh cold air in winter or it will be super hot in the room. The temperature adjustment didn’t help so we had to switched room.

The location, room and breakfast are good. The staff also very helpful when we were there.

The hotel double charged me for two nights stay. I only discovered it when I got back home and look at my credit card bill. The two night stay charge was charge to two separate credit card. One credit card was the one tied to the booking.com and the other was the one I give them when I check it. Both cards were charge the same amount in the same period. Is okay to make such a mistake but when I email them to enquiry. The hotel ask for my credit card details which I provided quickly. I even forward the same mail to their hotel manager as directed by the hotel. It is almost 3 weeks and I have hear nothing. The hotel don't even response by saying that they are reviewing the issue and get back to me. In short complete silent and no action. I then try to call the hotel telephone number provided several times but each time the phone was put on hold and then "cut"OFF. This is very frustrating. Definitely not responsive and helpful

Pagué 130€ solo por unas horas, ni si quiera me quede esa noche. Es verdad que me dieron una habitación por la mañana para poder dormir, pero la habitación no es que fuera la mejor tampoco, a parte de que estaba en obras y no pude descansar como quisiera. El manager del hotel y el concierge son muy buenos profesionales. La limpieza en la habitación debería de mejorar. Pague 130€ parte por un depósito, y aún no he recibido parte del dinero de vuelta.

The main door is Jiujiang Road, and the other is on the famous Nanjing E. Rd. Pedestrian Walk: the best combination of convenience and accessibility. The huge food court is just across Nanjiang Road--you can't beat the location. Also, the adjacent alley offers a variety of local breakfast stores that offer a delicious local meal for those who would rather savor local menu than a restaurant one.

I would hope they offer more sitting areas.

The location for the hotel was great. Two entrances were well-located and lots of restaurants and stores around the place. The rooms were big and the furniture was comfortable. The staff at the front desk were normal.

The breakfast was a joke. They didn't even try to make more of already gone items. They were clearly set on spending as little money as possible on the breakfast buffet, and it showed. There was loud construction right next to all the rooms every day. They of course knew about this construction in advanced but didn't mention anything about it before the arrival. Of course, they also did not discount any price for the construction.

The hotel is located conveniently to People's Square metro station, Nanjing Road Pedestrian Street, and many malls in the surrounding area. The service provided by the hotel staff was also prompt and efficient, and housekeeping did a great job in tidying our rooms - we appreciated returning to a clean and comfortable room after a long day out.

We did not get a chance to try the other facilities.

The room was spacious and bright, the bed was very comfortable, the bathroom was big and luxurious, the cleanliness was excellent, the staff were friendly and helpful, and the location was exceptional! Definitely recommend.

The location was fantastic, rooms were brand new, good spread at breakfast.

We did not like the reception, especially one of the bald guy who was cold and quite rude when handling an error with the hotel booking system. The common toilet at the ground floor was filled with smoke (the security guard was smoking inside). The room they gave to us had an error with the door bell which started ringing non-stop in the middle of the night. The designs of the room was also not thoughtful as there was no where to hang our wet towels.

Location is excellent. Breakfast is great. The rooms are good. No major complaints.

Lobby staff don’t speak the best english. The air in the room was a bit dry.

桌椅床卫生间等设备老旧，地毯看起来像是好多年没换过。整个客房区设计有如旧式宿舍楼。入住时还有巨大敲打声。很后悔订了这家酒店。完全出乎意料，与图片宣传不符。

从酒店房间设计设备到前台服务态度都有必要改进。

服务人员从Reception到Housekeeper都非常善解人意，特别是22楼陈青梅看到我们就热情招呼，并询问我们需要什么帮助，使我们体会到了回家的温暖和快乐。

De plek midden in de drukke winkelcentrum.

‘s nachts werk er verbouwd (zie foto 4) en werd er tot 2 uur s nachts voor de slaapkamer deur met boorhamers gewerkt. Na gebeld te hebben met receptie zijn ze uiteindelijk gestopt. Slecht geslapen daardoor. Ontbijt is heel duur. Voor 1 persoon vragen ze 196 Yuan per persoon.

Excellent location right on the pedestrian shopping area, 3 mins walk to metro station. Breakfast was over-priced so I used the Subway/Costa restaurants on ground level instead.

Hotel is a bit old, could benefit from an upgrade, but the price is not high so can't expect too much in Shanghai.

Formal complain Dears Sirs By the present I here by presente my formal complain To the Crown Plaza Hotel Shanghai Nanjing Road In order to explain you let me give you all details: A - Arrived to the Hotel on the 05 of November 2023 reserved and paid for two junior suites numbers : 2203 and 2423 The first under my name Carlos Silva and the second under the name of Ya Ju Yu my busyness partner. B - on the night from the 09 to the 10th I realised that inside the closet on my room there was a Mouse a real and alive animal in my room around 2,30 in the morning when I by chance woke up to come to the toilet I heard the noise and then realized it. C - Immediately called reception and they sent a genitor to check who confirmed that there was indeed a mouse and even explained me that the mouse probably entered through the window and that it would run again though the window and would go up to the selling on the building as usual. D - After that someone who was suppose to be in charge came to my room and offered me to change the room which of course I accepted even if it is was not a suite like the one I paid for for but a normal single room. E - Of course I took all my belongings with me and immediately asked my cloths to be washed fearing that this mouse might have touched or much worse to urinated on which could kill me as everyone knows. F - Difficulty I finally after checking absolutely everything in this new room was able to sleep. G - the next morning the reception called me to my new room ask offered me breakfast and late check out as a compensation. For me and after all this situation and the danger of sleeping on a room with a mouse on a 5 starts hotel I just didn’t even replied because honestly I can not agree to a compensation like this. This for me was an outrage.

This is my third stay in Crown Plaza this year. By now the location is the only thing left I really appreciate about this hotel.

I'm currently using this hotel for group tours I organize but am seriously considering moving elsewhere on our next tour. On my first stay I had a leaking shower and ended up with a flooded bathroom. On my second stay the airconditioning didn't work and I couldn't get the temperature down lower than 25 degrees celsius or so. While my airconditioning works well on my third stay I still see many reviews complaining about this problem on the same days. Now, on my third stay I had a toilet that wouldn't flush away, confronting me with my own past every time I went to the bathroom. The hotel fixed it promptly when I complained about it but three days later the toilet was clogged again. After three faulty rooms other little things start standing out. Having instant coffee and sugar in the room, but no creamer. The wasteful plastic spoons instead of metal teaspoons. The one layered windows that let a lot of traffic noise in. The razor mirror that is so low you need to stand half a meter back or bend your knees to see, while I'm even not that tall for a Dutchmen. The pillows that make me sweat so much I wake up in the middle of the night with drenched pillow covers. The slow check-in and check out. In essense the hotel offers good value for money, but maybe they should charge slightly more and use the budget to fix the problems with the rooms. I will be checking out alternatives in the area in the meantime.

This was a repeated stay at the Crown Plaza. The location, right on Nanjing East Street and close to People's Park is excellent. The price is reasonable and the rooms well equiped although maybe a bit small compared to other hotels.

My major complaint is the air-conditioning. Whatever temperature I set it too, the temperature would not go down and was 25 degrees Celsius for most of my stay. That is not a comfortable temperature to stay in; I might as well have gone outside where it was also 25 degrees. I remember from a talk with the staff a few months ago during the heat waves in China that they set the air conditioning for the whole hotel centrally. If so, the aircon control panels in the rooms are a farce!

Everything. Location, nice and comfortable room but most of all the staff is amazing! We stayed there several times over the course of a month. At our last stay, we got an upgraded room, which was a new renovated room. Our flight was late at night and we were granted a complimentary late checkout at no cost. The staff is very nice and helpful with every questions/requests we had. We would definitely stay here again if we come back to Shanghai.
