Air conditioner in our room was barely working and noisy. The room was small but ok.
Way too many local teenagers in the pool on Sunday who horsed around and frequently splashed guests and made it very uncomfortable to relax or swim. The pool is very nice but not closed to resort patrons only. This made one day at the pool a poor experience.

Great location and lovely staff, especially the two ladies at the front desk. The room was clean and the bed was comfortable.
It was older and a little dark. Old school resort but I'm sure that's a part of the charm.

Receptionist at the hotel Saturday May 6th at 4 pm. was rude, lacked completely customer service skills. she ruined our good mood with a poor attention to us, and wasn’t even able to welcome us to the hotel. also guys you need to change those pillows and shower head (it feels like a good hotel, until I went to sleep and when took showers).

This is a nice resort style hotel with a huge pool we really enjoyed with our children. The room was ok too, airconditioning worked fine, strong wifi everywhere.
The receptionists, especially Angelica were really nice and helpful.
The restaurant was really good, the prices were modest.
The breakfast was a bit boring and they stopped filling the buffet at around 8.40 altough breakfast was until 10, so at times the tables were almost empty when we arrived.
We were there around Christmas and we couldn't find any reasonably priced tours in the area.

On 2 out of 3 nights we stayed, there was a loud music from some parties by the hotel that disturbed and basically didn't let our children to sleep.
After talking with the manager, we got a refund for a single night.

The room was great, but we had pay over $100 for the upgraded room. It had a sitting area with a TV and a balcony. The other nice thing was that it had a fridge that was larger than the normal bar fridge. Nice furnishing and a great bathroom.
The restaurant left a lot to be desired. It was basically a sports bar and was very loud even for a terrible breakfast.
Golfito does not have beaches and really is not set up for tourists. I don't recommend it
unless you are a boater or fisherman.

The room was great. Extra large including a nice size fridge. A sitting area with a nice couch and a large screen TV. Bathroom was remodeled and very nice. We also had an outdoor balcony with a sitting area and even though it faced the parking lot, it was still nice to have.
The restaurant was a disaster. Not really set up for meals . It was more of a sports bar. We were the only couple that came in for dinner and the staff had the music at a painful level. I politely asked the staff to please turn it down a little and they refused. Because it was after dark and we did not know the town we stayed but it did not make for a nice relaxing dinner after a long drive.
The food for dinner was OK.. Breakfast was suppose to be a buffet, but there was not buffet. Eggs were burnt and just a minimum breakfast. How can you ruin breakfast?????
Golfito has no beach. There is a water ferry to take you across to a so called beach, but there is no sand, only a kind of mud. Trash everywhere and the water was very dirty. We came right back.
Stayed 1 more day because of rain and then couldn't leave fast enough.
There is a very nice restaurant at the marina. The view and the food was the redeeming part of our stay in Golfito.
I don't recommend Golfito as a destination unless you are there for business, or boating.
