There are places remembered for their beauty, and others for the kindness with which one was received. Bubble Rum Camp gave us ample reason to remember both. Mohammed’s care began before we arrived, with helpful messages about the journey; he then drove out to the Wadi Rum visitor centre to escort us to the camp himself. Throughout our stay, no request seemed an inconvenience. He had that most generous quality in a host: the ability to make strangers feel that their arrival was a pleasure. At his arrangement, we spent four hours exploring the country that T. E. Lawrence described as “vast and echoing and God-like”. Great walls of sandstone rose above the open sands, their scale making our small passage through the desert seem a fleeting thing. Allow yourself the longer tour. Such scenery deserves more than a hurried acquaintance. A modern traveller may recognise the worlds of Dune, Star Wars or The Martian; the romance of Lawrence of Arabia feels equally close at hand. That evening, we gathered at camp for a communal dinner, the food brought from a traditional earth oven, plentiful and delicious. After the grandeur of the desert came the simple pleasure of a shared meal and a gracious host. The following morning, Mohammed arranged a half-hour camel ride from the camp — enough for a first acquaintance with that mode of travel, and a lovely farewell to our stay. Our bubble tent supplied every comfort we needed: a private shower and toilet, a kettle, and places to sit both within and on the terrace. Yet its finest offering required no furnishing. Beyond the window lay the desert and its great sandstone cliffs, pale beneath the moon. To retire with such a prospect before us was a rare pleasure.

First of all, Muhammad was an incredible host. He was on top of the game in terms of communication, hospitality and all of that. The location was also very convenient, and we were able to reach it in a small sedan without issue. Also the sunrise Jeep tour was genuinely one of the best experiences of my life.

The stars were quite visible from the camp, but if stargazing is your priority, you’ll probably want to go to a camp deeper in wadi rum (we stayed at Wadi Rum desert adventures for the second night, and the stars were even better there)

Our stay at Bubble RumCamp was nothing short of extraordinary and one of the highlight of our journey through Jordan. From the very moment we arrived, the owner went above and beyond to ensure our experience was flawless, showing a level of dedication and care that truly epitomizes the legendary Bedouin hospitality. The entire staff was incredibly warm, courteous, and attentive to our every need. We were fortunate enough to stay in a stunning bubble tent that offered a mesmerizing, uninterrupted panoramic view of the majestic Wadi Rum landscape. Waking up to the serene, sweeping desert vistas right from the comfort of our bed was an absolute dream. A major highlight of our trip was the spectacular Jeep tour organized by the camp. It was an adventure that took us through the breathtaking desert scenery, including the iconic cinematic filming locations of Star Wars, The Martian, and Lawrence of Arabia. Beyond the Hollywood history, we were utterly captivated by the raw beauty of the desert, the fascinating ancient petroglyphs, and the magnificent natural rock bridges. The culinary experience was equally impressive. The evening dinner featured an outstanding and generous buffet with a wide variety of authentic, traditional dishes that were beautifully prepared and incredibly delicious. If you are looking for an unparalleled, immersive, and highly comfortable desert experience in Wadi Rum, this camp is the ultimate choice. We could not recommend it more highly!

Si raggiunge direttamente in auto (anche non 4x4) tramite strada prima asfaltata e in ultima parte sterrata. Bubble bellissima, pulita, presente di ogni comfort a partire dal riscaldamento, prodotti da bagno, WiFi in camera. Abbiamo usufruito anche di un tour di 2h nel deserto organizzato direttamente da loro! Colazione e cena tipica molto buoni. Lo consiglio!
