Kiki's Villa

First and foremost, what impressed me most was the host’s sincere and genuine way of communicating. You can feel that his kindness is real. From the warm welcome on my first day to the farewell on my last, he treated me in such a special way that I never felt I was simply renting a room. I felt at home. His kindness went far beyond what I would normally expect from a host. During my stay, I lost my bank card in an ATM. The next day, I had no way of paying online for my bus ticket back to Romania. When I asked him for help, he used his own credit card to buy the ticket for me, simply because I was his guest. What touched me most was not only that he helped, but the graceful and natural way he did it. And my problems did not end there. Less than a day before I was supposed to check into my accommodation in Bucharest, the owner cancelled my booking. My host in Chișinău later checked on me to ask whether I had managed to find another place to stay. That may sound like a small gesture, but for me it meant a lot. It showed that his concern for his guests does not simply end when they leave his property. I cannot thank him enough. To me, he is a wonderful ambassador for Booking.com and for Moldovaian hospitality. As for the accommodation itself, I honestly feel that what I paid was too little for what I received. My room and the entire villa were exceptionally clean. Guests leave their shoes at the entrance, which helps keep the house spotless. The bathroom and shower were among the cleanest I have seen in my seven or eight years of staying in apartments and rooms while travelling. Last but not least, the host gave me very useful advice about getting around Chișinău, including both taxis and public transportation. His advice made my stay much easier.
