Nice place, close to bus station to either Chamarel (7 Colors, Chamarel Waterfall, Rum Factory and Ebony Forest) or La Gaulette / Le Morne to the South and Tamarin / Flic en Flac to the North. The neighborhood is surprising at first (buildings under construction, many stray dogs) but the flat itself is fine and properly equipped.
The staff is adorable and the owner even offered us a ride to our next stop in Mauritius after our stay.
Renting a car (or hitchhiking) is necessary if you don't want to take the bus or if you want to hike in the Black River Gorge, since buses don't get there. Renting should be done in advance (ask the owner of the place).
