Helsinki Desert Camp

Staying at Helsinki House for the second time. The hotel was pretty, clean and comfortable. Short distance from locations in the city. Staff was very courteous and friendly and people were always available to assist in any way. The suites are beautiful.

Beautiful, peaceful location with great rooms and entertainment

It is a great place to stay when you visit Jaisalmer. I had booked it for three nights stay. It was a pleasant stay with a very friendly helpful staff. Esp. Ramzan who took us to various places, driving very carefully and giving us a good overview of the places. Entire staff were ready to help us at every moment. They also cooked special Rajasthani delicacies specially for me. I really thank all the staff members. The place is in the middle of the desert but surprisingly it was less dusty than lovely Mumbai :-D If you visit this place to stay, do visit Rajkumari Ratnavati Girls school which is two mins away from is place.

Only issue, you have to drive to this place.

Evening entertainment was good. Rooms are clean and large equipped with a heater and an a.c. Hot water takes 20 mins after switching it on.

Staff at reception sell you a very expensive jeep safari “tour” which is not really a tour but a short transfer to a very crowded semi desert area where loads of local people are doing 5 min camel rides. Other locals try to sell you more tours with exorbitant prices. They are very pushy. Small kids try to get money from you and the driver just parks at one place until you get tired and ask to go back to the hotel. Also- at check out, they don’t charge the credit card on account but ask for cash.
