Royal Hotel Capertee

The staff, although only a few people, were friendly, attentive and responsive. Dinner options were a typical pub meal menu BUT the food was excellent and the service was quick. The pub vibe was local and friendly. Our room was small and old but with high ceiling, a comfortable bed and quiet. The staff turned off the big outside lights and the refrigerator compressors were quiet enough for sleep. The towels were large, soft, clean and fresh. lots of space outside and beautiful sky views out the back.

The shared bathroom was clean and the water was very hot but hard to maintain a comfortable temperature - seemed to be either full hot or full cold. Breakfast was very basic - luckily we had our own supplies. Would be good to have ground coffee and a plunger at least, not instant coffee. Only 3 teabags and no sink.

Staff were accommodating. We came downstairs a few minutes after the kitchen closed but they were willing to accommodate us and took our order. . Location was central to where we wanted to explore around Capertee valley. Value for money. Quiet spaces to read.

Nothing. I was prepared for a simple stay and packed what we needed as I knew there weren't any supermarkets close by. May be annoying for some that have trouble with stairs as rooms are up a staircase.

Always great to stay here and catching up with the locals. They welcome everyone as part of the community.

Authentic and historical. Has everything you need except a private bathroom. Good to experience life in a hotel of the past.pizzas were good

Very small town so restricted on entertainment. Great if you are totally independent which we were.
