The warmth of the staff, the character of the building and the quality and choice of food available.

Personal muy amable, cuidando los detalles. Suite de dos dormitorios muy limpio. Ubicado en el centro del pueblo, muy bonito aunque no accesible en coche. Desayuno muy completo y se adaptan a cualquier cambio.

Se escuchan mucho las campanas, al estar al lado de la iglèsia. No habían cojines extra, los que teníamos eran de cojín cuadrado de sofà muuuy fino. Preguntamos por alguno extra y nos dijeron que no tenían.

The location was very pretty, set in a lovely, picturesque village. We sat outside for dinner on a very atmospheric terrace with a view over the roofs. Supper was excellent and so was the breakfast. Would recommend!

Laroque is a beautiful village and Le Refuge is a gorgeous old building. The terraces are lovely and the staff are very welcoming and friendly. The larger bed was comfy.

Lack of attention to detail. We weren't offered any help with our luggage which we had to heft up 2 flights of stairs. Because there's no parking (we knew this) we had to park in the public car park 300m downhill from Le Refuge. The room wasn't soundproofed so the bells from the church opposite which ring twice on the hour and half hour kept us awake all night. There was also a lot of noise from the bar downstairs and from the street too so not a very restful stay. The air-con was a portable unit with a hose that fed out through the window so if you wanted air-con you had to leave the window open and therefore couldn't close the curtains fully which left in light. There was a mosquito screen on the window but they still got in through little gaps at the side and we got several bites the first night. I stayed with my daughter and only one bed in the room was made up when we arrived. There was no hand soap in the dispenser but we just used our own toiletries. Within the room to get to the bed section you have to use steep wooden steps down which would be tricky for people with mobility issues. For breakfast which was served at the table there was no fresh juice so we were offered bottles of juice and the yogurt was either peach or strawberry - it was fine but nothing exceptional. The staff were really nice but we wouldn't stay there again.
