Sandalwood is a breathtaking estate sitting on the North End.
Il sandalo è una tenuta mozzafiato su un acro di terra molto privato. I due piani, 2.500 mq. ft. casa principale si trova su una collina e vanta 80 piedi di facciata sulla spiaggia perfetta. La casa principale utilizza 3.000 piedi quadrati di ponte avvolgente per offrire una vista a 360 gradi sia sull'oceano che sul mare di Abaco. Il primo piano della casa principale è composto da due master suite ognuna con bagno privato e il secondo piano è composto da soggiorno, sala da pranzo e cucina. Attaccato alla casa principale tramite una breve passerella coperta è il "Crews Quarters" con due camere da letto aggiuntive e un bagno in comune. Tutte le camere sono dotate di aria condizionata. Il secondo piano della casa principale utilizza la forte brezza dell'oceano e più ventilatori a soffitto per rimanere freschi. I terreni della tenuta sono completamente mantenuti, un generatore di riserva è disponibile in caso di interruzione di corrente e un serbatoio di stoccaggio dell'acqua piovana da 15.000 galloni fornisce acqua potabile. Questo grande appezzamento di terra è incredibilmente tranquillo e riservato, ma a meno di 15 minuti a piedi da Hope Town lungo la spiaggia o su strada. Accesso diretto a un molo privato di 120 piedi, la casa sulla spiaggia di Sandalwood ha accesso al lato nord del molo. La profondità approssimativa dell'acqua al molo varia da 2 piedi a 4,5 piedi con la bassa marea e da 4 piedi a 6,5 con l'alta marea. We were blown away by the 360 degree views of this beautiful beach house. The accommodations in the main house were wonderful. There were plenty of Adirondack chairs on the deck, nice, comfortable couches inside and seating for 8 at the table and more at the lunch counter. The kitchen had everything you'd want, however there was one salt shaker and little else, such as no shampoo and few soap bars. We were shocked when we learned that we didn't have access to laundry for 3 weeks, but understood more when we learned the only water source is rain water. The manager did allow us to use the laundry twice, which helped considerably and they cleaned once mid stay, which we really appreciated. The North end of Elbow Cay is desirable if you like quiet, nature, and pristine beauty. All in all, a wonderful vacation.

3rd consecutive summer in Sandalwood. Love the house and location. A few maintenance issues: ceiling fan in bedroom not working for 2nd year in row;Foot washer spray handle on back deck broken; one refrigerator not working but no notice or posting not to use so we had food spoil.

We had a great time at Sandalwood! The house was beautiful, well equipped and very comfortable for our party of 6 adults. The bedrooms were comfortable, private and quiet and the living area ans balconies were perfect. The property management team was very professional and responsive, and provided assistance and advice whenever we asked. We were not able to rent a golf cart or boat, but we rented bikes, went on a couple of day charters, and enjoyed the beautiful private beach at the house. The walk to town for groceries, restaurants and shops was easy. We would definitely go back!.

Driving up to the big house on the hill is a great way to start your vacation. The house is situated on the quieter North End of town, overlooking the beautiful beach out back and the harbor out front. The surrounding grounds are pristine and well kept. The house was clean, well stocked with the necessary gear to get you through the week. It's also large enough to accommodate the 8 people it says it can, very comfortably. Having stayed before on Elbow Cay a few times, I knew what I was getting into with the cart not being able to cross through town situation. If its a big deal for you, get two carts (one on each end). Or simply get the restaurants to pick you up from the Post Office in town. The boat dock is in great shape, and allowed for safe/proper docking and easy access across the road from the house. There is a great breeze on the top of the house, with all the doors and windows and fans there is no need for AC. Andre, the caretaker was easy to communicate with and helped pick us up at the lower dock to transport us and our luggage/groceries to the house. We only wish the home had some beach chairs and possibly more cleaning supplies. We did our best to make due with what the home had. Not a huge deal though. We really enjoyed some of the board games and puzzles to pass the morning time. Good WiFi and phone to communicate as you wish. I wish the screen on the VHF worked, it was practically useless without it, that would have made it a lot easier to communicate with some of the vendors around the area but other than that it was such a wonderful stay, we will definitely look to return again!!
