We enjoyed our stay! Very convenient to DuPont and Pisgah for biking and hiking. We cooked each night, the kitchen is well stocked. Too cold to enjoy outdoor space but it would be great if weather was pleasant. Nice beds and linens.

The house was close to everything. The sunroom had a wonderful view any time of day. The house had everything we needed and was spotless. This house felt more like our home than a VRBO. We will be staying again.

This house was perfect for our family! We had everything we needed and more! There is a heater in the sunroom which was the perfect spot to see the views while staying warm. We had such a great time sitting around the fire pit.

We enjoyed our stay at Shifting Gears for a family birthday weekend. The beds are comfortable, plenty of spaces to spread out, loved the sunroom and deck, and appreciated the lovely antiques and nostalgic pieces thoughtfully placed throughout. The home is in a great location, close to grocery, and central to many things to see and do. One day we sent up 276 to the Blue Ridge Parkway, had lunch at Pisgah Inn, visited the Cradle of Forestry, and stopped at Looking Glass Falls. The next day we visited Dupont Forest, Jeter Farms, and Mills River to Sierra Nevada Brewery. Each night we were home to enjoy the beautiful view. Would welcome another visit to this Comfortable Place!

This is such a clean & lovely home with beautiful views of the mountains from the deck and sunroom. There were areas to gather as a family to eat or hang out inside and outside. We would highly recommend it!

We stayed in this property for a weekend and enjoyed it a lot. The house is well equipped and the view from the house is amazing. It is located ten to fifteen minutes from the downtown of Brevard and Pisgah Forest and other attractions.

We loved this house! The deck and sunroom were our go-to spot. There is an amazing view of the mountains and sunset every night with comfy patio furniture and air conditioned sun room. The beds were comfortable and the kitchen was well stocked. It could use a few more dishes and silverware but we just did dishes often. We traveled to the area for US Gravity Nationals and the garage was perfect for bike storage and bike maintenance. The drive to Ride Rock Creek was about 40-45 minutes on curvy narrow roads. The house is only a couple minutes from Brevard, the Hub bike shop and two really good breweries. While half of our party was enjoying the gravity scene, three of us pedaled around Pisgah and DuPont which were both relatively close. The steep driveway was intimidating at first be we navigated it ok...even with our low clearance minivan. We would definitely stay here again!

Booked this house with some friends so we could hit the nearby trails in Pisgah and DuPont and everyone loved it. The house was well furnished and the views from the deck out back were stunning. The bike rack and work stand in the garage were a nice touch too. Excellent all-around.

Group of guys met for mountain biking and cycling weekend. Fantastic location - close to routes, breweries, and restaurants. House was perfect. Really well appointed kitchen, comfortable beds, big garage to store bikes/gear complete with bike stand and bike rack.

The entire process from booking, check in, communications and check out was super easy. The house was so clean and we enjoyed our stay. We had no issues at all and would recommend this property to anyone.

This wonderful mountain house impressed us all with how beautiful and comfortable it was! The hosts were easily reached and helpful, and many thoughtful touches - such as light-blocking curtains, extra towels, and a collection of games and puzzles - put this house over the top for us. We loved seeing the sun set over the mountains from the deck each night, and the location was a great balance between privacy and close distance to Brevard and to Pisgah Forest. We hope to come back soon for another great stay!

We’ve made several trips to Brevard for mountain biking and hiking, and this house is the best place we have ever stayed. The location is perfect; 10 minutes to DuPont and 10 minutes to Brevard. All of the rooms are beautifully furnished without any clutter and the kitchen has everything you need. Every detail has been thought of including the garage where there were bike stands and tools available. The Master bed was super comfy, the other beds were fine. There were plenty of linens and everything felt new and fresh. We will definitely be staying here again.

Close to National Parks, grocery, good restaurants yet away from it all.
We were close to lots of hiking which was one of the main reasons we stayed at this site. The house was very clean and for us perfect in every way.

Excellent Getaway
Just what we were looking for, away from the hustle, a beautiful view and a short drive to so many things nearby.
The host went the extra mile. Communication the weeks leading into our reservation was spot on answering my questions before I could ask them. We arrived late in the evening to find the lights turned on and music playing to greet us.
The house was impressively clean. The kitchen was fully stocked allowing us to cook dinner a few nights. The bedrooms were a great size and all guest reported a good night sleep. The games were an added bonus for our group (priceless time together). We had everything we needed and some.
We didn’t get to enjoy the outdoor grill area and firepit due to the weather but the set up was excellent.
Highly recommend the short drive to YMCA Pretty Place.

Got away for a few days to do some work planning and mountain biking. The house was in excellent condition and spacious. Pisgah & DuPont trails were both within 10 min drive. Breweries galore. Can't say enough good things about our stay.
