This is a tower. Not a converted barn, not a farmhouse with character — an actual medieval tower, standing in the vineyard hills above the Veneto plain, surrounded by the vines that produce some of Italy's finest Prosecco.

La Torre di Rua sits in the heart of the Conegliano Valdobbiadene Prosecco Superiore, a UNESCO World Heritage landscape since 2019. The family who own the estate have been making wine here for generations, and their cantina is next door. You will sleep in the tower. You may leave with a few bottles.

THE SPACE
The tower unfolds across multiple floors, with three bedrooms — a double, a queen, and a single — sleeping up to five guests. Three bathrooms, including one full bathroom with bath and shower. A fully equipped kitchen. A private garden and private parking. And at the top: a rooftop terrace with a panoramic view that stretches across the entire Veneto plain — the Alps to the north, the lagoon of Venice shimmering on the southern horizon on clear days.

THE SETTING
You are on the Strada del Prosecco e Vini, the oldest wine route in Italy. The vineyards around you are the same ones that appear on the UNESCO heritage designation maps. In autumn, when the harvest begins, the hills turn gold and the air smells of must — this is one of the most beautiful places in northeastern Italy to be in September and October.

Treviso is 27 km away. Venice is under an hour by car. The Dolomites are two hours north. The medieval town of Conegliano, with its castle and Cima frescoes, is 10 minutes away. Asolo — described by Robert Browning as the most perfect small town in the world — is 30 minutes.
