Pine Hill Lodge In Vineyard

Nice and clean room. Excellent breakfast with homemade bread

The location is peaceful and has a beautiful outlook over vineyards and the bay. Everything was exceptionally clean and of high quality. The breakfasts were excellent and Paul & Jeanette were very friendly and helpful.

This is a very small suggestion: the kitchenette provides basic cutlery & crockery. It would have been very helpful to have a small sharp knife in addition to regular spreading knives.

We stayed 4-6 January 2026, so I'm a little tardy with my review...apologies to our hosts! We loved Pine Hill Lodge, and Jeanette and Paul are fantastic, where genuinely nothing was too much trouble. When I was prepping ou New Zealand adventure, and I shared my stop the night before we were due to arrive Jeanette and Paul gave me a full itinerary of my route from Kaikōura to Mapua, broken down into 3 topographic sections with what to expect, what to see, and most importantly where to stop! This was so helpful not knowing the country, and this being a particularly long drive. When we arrived Jeanette explained everything and made us feel most welcome. The accomodation provided everything we could need and more. We were travelling up to Abel Tasman after the first night and needed to leave early. Jeanette agreed we could have breakfast a little earlier to allow us to get to our water taxi in good time. We woke to a beautiful sunrise, and had a lovely breakfast. After a fantastic day trekking in Abel Tasman, we had a good nights rest, and got to enjoy a more leisurely breakfast the next day, before driving onto Greymouth.

Unfortunately our neighbours over the 2 nights we stayed were a little noisy but this didn't spoil our stay, and was out of the control of our hosts.

Breakfasts were catered to our likes and brought to us each morning which was wonderful. Enjoyed the media/lounge room in the morning instead of eating in our room. Very nice grounds and room was very clean and had everything we needed. Wonderful hosts!
