Everything worked out perfectly! The kitchen was well stocked, beds were very comfortable and the location was awesome. Will definitely be back!

I booked this just for a solo getaway for me, but my mom ended up coming for a couple days also. The bed was sooo comfortable for me after staying in a few places with uncomfortable beds. I wish I would have looked at the brand of the pillows because I really want to buy them! The view of the bay is so nice. We saw some otters under the dock next door and caught a few nice sunsets. I didn’t make it up early enough for sunrise but my mom said it was spectacular. The kitchen was very well stocked, and Joan and Leah were super nice and responsive. I had no issues at all during my stay and I will definitely be back!

Had a wonderful time staying on Big Bay Creek for Spring Break with my family (daughter 12 & son is 9). The property has a very nice dock with deep water. I pulled my boat down for the vacation to do some fishing with the kids. The dock has running fresh water to wash your boat, fishing gear, etc. This property is located at a prime location. Next door is the local seafood market, a restaurant, and a place to rent golf carts and bicycles. And all of the restaurants and stores on the island is just a short distance away. We are planning on booking again over the summer when kids are out of school.

We had a wonderful time during our visit. The dock had a lovely view and lots of wildlife to entertain. The home was spacious and very clean. It had everything we needed for our weekend away. This trip was only my husband and I, but the space would be perfect for two couples. The home was located very close to several restaurants and was a perfect location. We are already making plans to return!!

We enjoyed our time on Edisto and the house was perfect!

Everything about our stay was perfect! Communicating with Joan was super easy from our initial booking to check out. We absolutely LOVED having access to Big Bay Creek via the dock every day and being able to leave our boat parked at the dock instead of having to haul it in and our every day made our trip that much more enjoyable! Having access to a hose on the dock was a huge plus as well to rinse off the salt water from fishing poles and coolers. Oh, and the sunset views from the dock are absolutely amazing! We loved meeting Joan and Mr. Bob and talking with them, but that was a choice that we made, they were not intrusive into the space we rented at all. Had we not gone out of our way to talk to them we'd probably have never seen them! But I am so glad that we did! We didn't spend a ton of time inside, but our accommodations inside were exactly as expected from the pictures. The beds were very comfy and the sheets and towels were very soft. There was ample room in the fridge, cabinets, and dressers to unpack and make yourself at home. I did bring my own pillow (as I read from another review) and if you're picky about the firmness of your pillows, I'd suggest the same, but my husband slept fine. The water pressure from the shower is the best I've ever experienced in 35 years of coming to Edisto! Do bring your own blowdryer though. I would definitely recommend Joan and Mr. Bob's home to anyone! We can't wait to go back and are already considering a trip in the fall. Thank you for such a perfect and relaxing week!

We enjoyed our stay. The location was pleasant. The dock was peaceful. The Serpentarium, Museum, Hutchington House, and the beach were educational. I loved collecting shells on the beach. I would visit again because it's only 1.5 hours from my home and the beach is phenomenal.

My wife and I wanted a low key, home away from home beach trip and knew Edisto fit the bill. We wanted to take our boat to experience the creeks in addition to the beaches. We could not have been happier with our choice. First and foremost, Joan and her husband were delightful people and most welcoming. They live downstairs of the duplex and they are very accommodating and helpful. The dock was amazing- you really couldn’t ask for more and it’s plenty deep even at the lowest tide for pretty much size boat you’re going to haul in. There’s a massive shrimp boat a stones throws away for reference. The location is right next to Dockside and the seafood market. We bought fish or shrimp 3 nights of our 4 and cooked- it was great. The house isn’t new or filled with expensive, trendy stuff so don’t expect that. To us, that’s not important as we only care that a house has what we need and is clean. And in those categories this is a 10/10. There are two king beds where one is softer and one is firm so you can play Goldielocks and pick what you like. You may want to bring your own pillows if you are picky- they are thicker, firm pillows so not all may like those. We slept well. Also being next to dockside never was an issue for noise- you never could hear it from the inside. You’ll want to bike, golf cart, or drive to the beach access points. There are plenty all along Edisto. We chose to use the beach at the sound as it was less windy. I could go on, but if you’re looking for a good clean house for a single family or couple, very friendly owners, and a place to bring a boat this is a great one. We will be back!

Being from Edisto and needing a place at the last minute turned into somewhere I look forward to hopefully staying there again. When I can take advantage of the dock. The property looked great and the location is convenient for any entertainment, fresh seafood. But then only a local would know how awesome it was to stay in Mrs Anna Lee's house.

This place was perfect for a relaxing vacation of kayaking and bike riding. The dock was great to launch our kayaks from and the bike lane right across the street gave us easy access to bike the entire island. Having a fresh fish market and two restaurants right next door was convenient too.

Great location and place to keep your boat for your trip to Edisto. Very comfortable beds and well-equimped kitchen. Looking forward to coming back in the near future.

Property is close to everything, House is dated but clean. You can tell they have been trying to update it. Back yard has a nice dock overlooking the bay. Would stay again.

All in All , Was a Great an Friendly place to stay. Everything needed was there and Fishing was Awesome!!

The location on Big Bay Creek provides a beautiful water-front view. My husband and I stayed here with our two teenagers for four nights. The boys slept well with a king-size pillow in between them on one of the two king beds. The beds and living room furniture are new, very good quality. The brand new covered dock has a nice bench seat. There is a deck right out the back door with a table and chairs for four. The Samsung TV is connected to Dish & has a Wii with several popular games that my teens enjoyed. The kitchen is large and had everything we needed (very nice fry pans). It has a 4-cup coffee maker & a Kuerig. They provided coffee filters and a box of K-cups, but not the refillable K-pod. We could hear people talking in the parking lot of the "bar & grill" nearby at night, but never loud enough or late enough to keep us awake. Black-out curtains would be an improvement to the property, but a sleeping mask works for me as well. We liked the view and ease of entry over the Wyndham. Highly recommended!

Our family enjoyed our stay tremendously! The house and dock are perfectly located for morning boat rides and fishing, golf, beach outings, and evenings at Edisto's restaurants. Our hosts were so kind and accomodating! Loved using the boat slip that comes with the rental. We will definitely return!

This is a great place for adults wanting to fish or play golf. Walk to restaurants and seafood market. Well-stocked kitchen and great covered dock. The one bathroom is small but otherwise it is very comfortable! Great hosts who live downstairs are very friendly! We will go back!
