We enjoyed our stay here, and found everything we needed in the unit. The location is great, being walking distance to the Red Line Silver Spring Metro station. The neighborhood is friendly, with many walkers, with shops and restaurants close by. (Sergio’s Italian was one of our favorites.) The owner was very helpful and we enjoyed talking with her. We would definitely stay here again.
One consideration before booking is the stairway down to the basement level. It is narrow and steep, with about 5 steps, which we used carefully, but it might be difficult for individuals with knee problems.

Location is ideal! Walk to dinner & a quick drive to nearly everything. Really appreciated having off street parking available.
This is literally a basement of an older home, so be prepared for a bit of rustic character (which I love) and cute quirkiness.

We spent four nights at Ruti's basement apartment. It's located in a residential area in walking distance to the laundromat, grocery store, and other amenities. It’s just a 15 minute walk to the metro. We felt safe walking in this area even at night.

Had a very lovely stay in this studio during a weekend visit to DC and Maryland. Location was close to everything.
It was easy to use local transport to DC. Our host was perfect-communicative and responsive. Thank you for sharing your cozy place with us. It was perfect respite for an activity filled weekend.

Had a wonderful stay. The walk to the train station takes you through the neighborhood with groceries, restaurants and coffee shops.

We enjoyed our time in the DC/Maryland area by staying in this comfortable rental in Silver Spring. With multiple coffee making options, sleeping arrangements, and bright bathroom, and parking, we were happy to have found this place. We, however, were a bit disappointed that the elusive Deen the cat did not make an appearance. :) We appreciated the attention to details, cleanliness, amenities, and excellent communication that made this a great stay away from home.

Making an unexpected trip to the US to visit family in the Chevy Chase area, we were pleased to find this basement property. As previously mentioned, the convenient quiet location is ideal with easy walking access to both the Metro/bus system, shops, laundrette and restaurants. The No 16 bus, picked up from around the corner also takes you into Downtown Silver Spring Shopping centre and onto the Metro/bus station.
Ruti is a lovely host and communication and access easy. We would stay again and highly recommend it wholeheartedly and agree, this is a gem in Silver Spring.

We were seeing friends/family in Bethesda and Takoma park as well as seeing sights in D.C. This location, on a quiet, tree-lined street but with easy access to the Metro and downtown Silver Spring, and plenty of supermarkets and restaurants, was perfect for us. The kitchenette had everything we needed to prepare simple meals. The bed was comfortable. The heated towel rack was a great touch. All in all, not elegant, but comfortable and a fine place to stay.

Wonderful basement apartment that met our needs. On site parking, quiet neighborhood, wonderful host, easy and safe walk to the Metro. For an inexpensive, clean, out of the big city rat race style apartment, go here.

Everything was clean, the instructions were clear, the check-in was smooth. The host was very responsive. We asked for the temperature to be changed, and it was done immediately. We had a lovely time, and would definitely stay here again!

To get on the metro there, about a 20 minute ride to DC and everything was walkable. About 10 minutes from the house has a strip with restaurants and grocery stores and a CVS. The house is perfect for the 3 of us, plenty of room and comfy beds. We would stay here again.

Nice quiet place in a hidden gem part of town. They have automatic lights to guide your path upon entry in the evening. Very nice new bathroom with heated towel rack. Lots of fans to control airflow and a big TV for entertainment to boot. Lots to love about this place.

The place is perfect. Made better by the communication with the owner of the unit. I had some medical problems during my stay and the owner of the property was flexible and responsible.

We were passing thru DC and decided to spend a few days touring the area. Reached out to Ruti about the property…. so happy that we did. Great property, very clean, great location and Ruti was very easy to communicate with. We are a family of 4 adults - kids are 20 & 24 and the space was more than adequate for our stay. Highly recommend this cozy VRBO.
