I really loved this house, it‘s in such a beautiful area. Whichever direction you drive it’s stunning scenery after stunning scenery. My husband wasn’t able to join me on this particular trip and as a lone female traveller, I couldn’t have felt more safe and secure in the home - as well as in the hottub outside in the dark. The deer and wildlife (both in the front and back yards of the house and in the surrounding areas) are so serene and I was full of glee each and every time I saw them! Everything you need is minutes away but I do suggest you just drive sometimes and go on an adventure with no destination in mind…. you never know what kind of surprises you’ll find! Communication with John was excellent, he provides really detailed information in his guidebook and seems like such a nice person, very friendly. The house is super comfortable, feels like a home not a house, and is decorated beautifully. I cook a lot and I was in need of nothing at all as far as utensils and pans etc. The kitchen has all the cooking spices, oils etc you will need. Oh, and the view is gorgeous!! Please come stay here, it’s such a peaceful, lovely spot.

Great spot overlooking the lake. Outdoor setup was perfect with plenty of furniture for our outdoor gatherings with family. Owner was very accommodating and quick to reply if needed. While we didn’t need it for our trip, the office/den would be an impressive remote work space.

This house is in a great location for everything. The view is breathtaking and the house is in great condition. We would definitely stay there again.

The house was perfect for our family’s lake vacation! We all had plenty of room with comfy beds and seating options. The view from the master bedroom and living room is beautiful! Even better than the pictures suggest. The location is nice and quiet with many occasions to watch wildlife wandering around the property. The owner, John, was very responsive and easy to work with. He even installed a baby gate when we inquired about the opening at the top of the stairs. There were a few minor issues in the house ( loose or worn small fixtures) we let him know and he gladly took note in order to remedy them. I’m not sure that anyone stayed there this year before us, so these issues (loose toilet paper holder etc) were not surprising and did not impact our stay. The home has plenty of closet space to store belongings. And there is a fun game room on the first floor. We didn’t get a chance to use it with two very small children, but it looks very inviting! We did enjoy a nice night on the deck using the fire pit. Great way to end a long day of hiking. The sunrise and view of the lake from the deck in the Adirondack chairs is a great way to enjoy your morning coffee! John suggested other attractions in the area— if you have small children, we highly recommend the new playground area at Richard Outhouse park! The proximity to two beautiful parks and several relaxing hiking trails is very convenient! We would definitely stay here again if we visit Canandaigua lake :)

Our family and friends with 4 adults and 4 teens stayed at John's property for 5 nights. The property is clean, well equipped and has great view of the lake. We enjoyed ski/snowboarding at nearby Bristol Mountain. Highly recommended!

Our family visited Canandaigua for an extended family event over the recent long weekend. John's house was perfect for our group of 8, and was just as pictured and described on VRBO. Very clean and I loved that there was absolutely no clutter! We've rented many houses over the years, and the beds in this house were the most comfortable of any house we've stayed at. We loved sitting on the deck and looking at the great view of the lake. Plenty of parking for multiple cars. Strong WiFi. We appreciated that there was ice in the freezer and some basic condiments in the fridge; all rentals should have that. Great water pressure in the showers. The teenagers played lots of foosball and ring toss in the basement. John was a great communicator throughout the process. Highly recommend the house.
