The Captain's Quarters is a charming split-level houseboat in a sheltered mangrove bay that can rock you to sleep with the gurgling of waves against the hull. We arrived late, and were met with everything we needed to get into the boat and understand the expectations. Key to the door was a little challenging in the dark with the high winds that night, but that's a skill issue on our end, and the only hiccup we had. Mornings in Tavernier were a short walk to a choice of cafes, and the houseboat was a nice home base for our morning and evening day trips. Be aware that the marina is a working facility, and you should be aware of the work and the workers, who are all patient and careful. Late afternoon soaks in the pool, and evening beers at the attached bar were nice additions, with a great slice of laid-back island time. The head aboard is small (it's a boat, after all), but if the weather's good, you can use the outdoor showers - that you should wash off in before using the pool, anyway! Great stay in a unique property for our family of four - short stay but unique stories!

Loved the house boat! Thankfully it was unlocked when we got there bc we never heard from the host or got a code lolWould go back but, was odd to have stuff in there and not be able to lock up?

Such an enjoyable and peaceful stay! Great spot to watch the sunset! Highly recommend.

Was awesome to have stayed on a houseboat
