This was a perfect spot for family to stay for a ceremony and dinner at the Air Force Base. A lovely home and we really enjoyed it. My mother left an earring in the bathroom and the host mailed it back to us. Very kind hosts. Highly recommend.

Overall it was a great stay at the Porch House. We had 6 adults staying here and it was very comfortable for all of us. Sondra was amazing to communicate with from start to finish. When we arrived she met us at the house and gave us the rules and information we needed for the stay. She also made us some amazing homemade bread and jam that was sitting on the counter when we arrived! It was very good and thoughtful of her.
We celebrated Christmas with some family in Columbus and the surrounding area. They all came over and visited during our stay. There was plenty of parking and it was comfortable moving around and utilizing all the amazing space available to us. I had asked Sondra if she had a Christmas tree available for us to put up since we were hosting Christmas and had a number of small children. She pulled one out of her garage and had it ready for me to setup! We utilized the kithen, cooked up a storm and had lots of laughs and fun thanks to our thoughtful host.
There were great views and peacful area on the back porch. It was amazing!

Sondra and her husband are so hospitable, and welcoming. The house is beautiful, in a lovely location with plenty of privacy. I would love to stay there again. 5 stars

Our family enjoyed our stay so much in this lovely home. The home is comfortable, clean and beautifully renovated. While sitting on the porch we watched birds, even an owl, and deer come into the yard. Sondra, our host even left us two loaves of homemade bread and strawberry fig jam which we enjoyed immensely! Highly recommend if staying in Columbus.

We needed the home for 10 days to be near Starkville MS for MSU graduation and Air Force Commissioning. We had several people coming and going, but the houses' three bedrooms, and couches were more than enough. The yard was large and allowed friends to play darts, etc. outside. We had the pleasure of meeting Sondra's husband. All very friendly and helpful. They are very accommodating people. They made our time there a pleasant one. Thanks again for everything.

An amazing space, I was traveling solo but I wish I’d had friends with, because it is a great space to share and relax and feel like you’ve escaped from people completely while still being a quick 5 minute zip from everything you need.

Let first start off by saying Jim and Sondra are the best hostess we have ever encountered. We experienced the best hospitality ever. On a arrival we learned that there was no heat due to the weather conditions. They went above and beyond to accommodate us. The house was exactly how it was displayed on the website. I would definitely book this place again. And to top it off Sondra made homemade bread with strawberry and fig jam. Perfection!

Beautiful property, the pictures don’t do it justice. We loved the large windows that allowed us to enjoy all the beauty of nature. So enjoyed meeting Sondra and we all loved the fresh baked sourdough bread and strawberry fig preserves! What a treat!
The Porch House had everything we needed. So very comfortable that we wished we could stay a couple more days just to enjoy the house and porches! Highly recommend the Porch House!

Our stay was fabulous. The bread and jelly are fantastic. The house is beautiful. My wife and I were down to see our son in the MSU band. My parents also came, and my brother and nephew stayed one night. Our son came over for two home cooked meals. Thank you so much for the attention to detail that you give!

Lovely home, perfectly decorated. The porch was fantastic, we spent most of our time outside overlooking the woods. The hosts were lovely, including the fresh sourdough bread and strawberry fig preserves. The house was right off the road but completely hidden in the woods. The location was close to all the stores. We will definitely return when we visit the area. Highly recommended.

We had a great stay. House is located in a quiet, wooded area. Extremely clean and perfect for small group gatherings. The rocking chairs on the back porch overlooking the woods were perfect for morning coffee drinking. Plenty of room to host a family gathering. Highly recommend.

We had a wonderful weekend at The Porch House. Everything was immaculate and we even had fresh sourdough bread and strawberry jam from the Host. It was the perfect place for my elderly parents, myself and my husband, and our two adult children to stay while visiting family in the area. Thank you so much for the fabulous accommodations. 10/10

Perfect spot to celebrate graduation
The Porch House was the perfect stay for our family to celebrate our niece’s graduation from MSMS. We prepared all of our meals at the house and just enjoyed the beautiful, retreat like feel of the location to relax and spend quality time together.

Three generations (12 of us) met there and spent 3 wonderful nights together cooking, playing, exploring and enjoying being together. The 3 living areas provided plenty of room for us to gather and visit, the sleeping arrangements were comfortable and the kitchen and dining room made our meals easy and together. The kids loved exploring the trails and playing in the huge yard while the grown-ups watched from the comfort of the rocking chairs. And it doesn’t hurt to have a Dollar General Store about 5 minutes away. Sondra is a joy to meet and work with, and I highly recommend this home away from home. You will not regret it!

College Reunion
This is the perfect property in every way. We wanted a home with room to hang out with our friends, and this is it. The description and pictures on VRBO are spot on but fail to mention one item - the hostess is lovely, even leaving homemade bread and preserves for us.

Perfect fit for our big family
The porch house was gorgeous, all new. Plenty of room for the 8 of us. property sits on 40 acres and the views from the porch and many kitchen, living room windows makes you feel like you are sitting in the trees. Outdoor grill was a plus.

We had a fabulous time at our stay at The Porch House and will definitely go back if in the area. Sondra was quick to respond to my messages. Check in & out process was a breeze. The house is lovely, clean, well-maintained, and well stocked. The homemade bread & jam that was there when we arrived was delicious and very thoughtful. Thank you for a lovely stay!

Egg Bowl Retreat
My family of four along with another family of four spent our Thanksgiving at The Porch House where we thoroughly enjoyed the space that had plenty of room for the children to play. The close proximity to MSU made for an easy commute to the Egg Bowl and we were even able to take advantage of the scenic Columbus Riverwalk for our informal turkey trot to walk off some of the extra calories. Our group would certainly consider this property again the next time we come to town for a Mississippi State event.
