Hotel Obergfell

Andreas und Carmen sind ausgesprochen freundliche und aufmerksame Gastgeber, die ihr Hotel mit viel persönlichem Engagement führen. Morgens beim Frühstücksbuffet wird man von Andreas freundlich begrüßt und bekommt einen Tisch zugewiesen. Auch das Abräumen des Geschirrs übernimmt er selbst. Abends bereitet Carmen in der hauseigenen Weinstube das Essen selbst zu. Alles war sehr lecker, vor allem der Apple Crumble! Die beiden sind immer anzutreffen und kennen ihre Gäste auch beim Namen. Man merkt, dass sie ihr Hotel mit viel Hingabe führen und großen Wert auf den persönlichen Kontakt zu ihren Gästen legen.

Ich persönlich fand es hier sehr schön und nett. Wer eine familiäre Atmosphäre und viel persönlichen Kontakt schätzt, ist hier auf jeden Fall gut aufgehoben.

Wir hatten ein sauberes, schön ausgestattetes Zimmer. Das Frühstück sehr geschmackvoll und abwechslungsreich. Verschiedene Obst- und Joghurts als Beilage zur Auswahl. Ein vom Besitzer-Ehepaar liebevoll geführtes Hotel. Sehr erwähnenswert ist die Freundlichkeit der Gastgeber und die schönen Abende in der gemütlichen Gaststube.

The Pros: • The cleanliness and organization of the hotel were up to standard. • The staff at reception were very welcoming and professional, making the check-in process smooth. • There are dedicated areas to store and dry your ski equipment, which is very convenient for winter sports enthusiasts. • The breakfast was typically German, with a good variety of bread, dairy, and wurst options. Definitely one of the better aspects of the stay. • The hotel itself has a cozy atmosphere, which could have been charming under different circumstances.

The Cons: 1. A single bottle of water costs €2.80. That’s a blatant rip-off for something so basic. 2. The owner Andreas was unnecessarily picky and downright unpleasant. For example, during breakfast my wife wasn’t allowed to use just any cup for our coffee—it had to be the one HE dictated. 3. My wife took an extra piece of bread from breakfast to eat later, and Andreas out of the blue came up to our table to charge €5 for it. Who does that? 4. After all these incidents we couldn’t relax for a moment outside our room. He seemed to have his eyes on us the entire time (or maybe cameras?) which was incredibly intrusive and made the whole experience deeply uncomfortable. I wouldn’t recommend this hotel to anyone. Save yourself the trouble and book somewhere else, even if it’s further away. Your peace of mind is worth it.
