The location of the home is great. Great access to the beach, lo al grocery store, etc.

We arrived to a very clean house, all beds already made, and the hot tub on and ready for use. Great location, beach access is directly across from the house. Four bedrooms on the first level would be great for family, with the master bedroom upstairs for parents or grandparents. We will rent this place again if we can.

This house is in a great location, with ocean access literally across the street and, during a tropical storm, it was the only house in the immediate area that didn't have a flooded driveway! Definitely a plus! Pretty well stocked kitchen of utensils and good coffee pot. Could use a better, updated collection of pots and pans, but there is enough there where you could get creative. The fridge has a water filter which is a plus. However, the house definitely needs some maintenance. Here are a few key issues:
- The hot tub has a major leak meaning that it empties by about half every 24 hours, so it constantly needs refilled and takes about 2-3 hours to get back up to temperature. This was super disappointing after returning to the house after a day on the beach and not being able to use the hot tub because it doesn't remain filled.
- A rain storm hit when we were there and the sliding glass doors on the top floor leak from both the top and bottom, leading to puddles on the floor and soaked drapes. The flooding was so bad that it led to a stain on the ceiling in the bedroom below.

This is a lovely home, even nicer than the pictures. Very, very clean. Lots of space for everyone and just a few steps across the street to the beach. The kitchen was well stocked and the beds were comfortable. The view was beautiful - we enjoyed watching the sunrise over the ocean. The only issue we had was with mosquitos, so bug spray is a must.

Perfect location for new family memories. Close to the beach, grocery store, shopping, and restaurants. Enough room and privacy for the whole family!

Great semi ocean front location but appliances are old, mattresses worn and majority of dishware with chips.

The only thing I will say is that we didn’t have enough towels for the kitchen or bathrooms.

I enjoyed staying at The Knotty Whale because it was close to the beach and even though there were houses in front they were short and didn`t block the view. We stayed during off season (week of Thanksgiving) so the price was excellent and really like how the area has not been commercialized. Our favorite was the pool. We love to swim and relax by the pool. The weather was perfect the week we were there. The location was also awesome, a short walk over the dunes and you are on the beach. My only complaint this time was the house seemed a bit more worn than 3 years ago when we stayed the first time. May want to do some deep cleaning of furniture cushions... they smelled. Carpet could use a full cleaning... felt dirty. I do realize it’s the beach and a pet friendly place so I understand the wear and tear. Everything about the cottage furnishings was well done and more than I normally expect. The cottage has a lot of rooms which is good but did not have the big open room we normally have. The cottage is in an area where the other cottages are close together. Gas grill is excellent for Tuna. Well done and good value for cost.
