We were extremely comfortable here for a week. The garden is lovely to look out on. It was a great jumping off point to visit anything on the Hilo side, and especially for Hawaii Volcanoes National Park. Jeff & Jennifer were very responsive to all of our questions and had a great guide book ready for us as well that was up to date and so useful. The kitchen had everything we needed to cook simple meals for ourselves (which we mostly did), including some basic condiments, flour, sugar, and a few spices. It was also convenient (20-30 minute drive) to a string of local beaches where the snorkeling was as good or better than anywhere else we went on our vacation. Of course, they had snorkels, boogie boards, and chairs at the ready for us to borrow. We really wanted for nothing during the week. If I were heading to that side of the island again, I would definitely rebook.

A great first trip to the Big Island! We strategically stayed on the Hilo side for closer proximity to Volcanoes National park and Punalu'u Black sand beach. We were also able to get an early start and made a day trip to Muana Kea summit as well as the Kona side. This guest house, thanks to Jeff and Jennifer's attention to detail, has ABSOLUTELY everything you can think of for a relaxing and enjoyable vacation. Impeccably clean, very nice furnishing & finishes and just a beautiful property overall. Thanks for sharing with our family!

Where to start. This place was amazing from the second we pulled up to the second we left. We started our trip on the Hilo side and we were greeted by the owners. Very kind people. We followed the tiki lined path to our perfect little guest house.
When we woke up the next day we couldn’t believe how stunning the property is, pictures just don’t do it justice. The coqui frogs sing you to sleep every night and the koi fish pond is so relaxing to sit by.
They have every thing you hate buying on vacations. Coffee, tea, sugar, spices, ziploc bags, beach chairs, coolers, snorkeling stuff, umbrellas, beach towels. Everything.
Jeff and Jennifer are so kind and you can feel the pride and love that they have in their property. They pay attention to the little details you don’t get when a company manages your rental. The windows are shaded out where you can see their home so it felt very private. One of the cleanest properties we’ve ever stayed at.

Stayed for 3 nights. It was a quick, stressful business trip and needed to be near the Hilo Area.
The moment when I entered the property, I felt right at home as if everything on the property was waiting for me. I sensed the love and care floating around the entire property. Staying at this guest house was as enjoyable and satisfying as when I stayed at the Mauna Kea Beach Hotel in different ways. Highly recommended.

We had a great stay at Jennifer and Jeff’s place. The guest house and grounds are stunning and peaceful. The hosts were friendly and the guest house was well stocked. We only wish we could have stayed longer.

We loved our stay here for 4 nights. It was the perfect spot to accumulate to the time change in this peaceful setting. The bed was SUPER comfy and cozy. They provided a bunch of beach gear or cooler and chairs.

We spent 5 nights here. The accommodations were even nicer than we were expecting. The hosts are very thoughtful with the items they have provided. We had everything we needed. The grounds are as beautiful in person as the pictures. It was a good home base to explore this side of the island. Mahalo to Jeff & Jennifer.

My wife and I had an amazing time. The location ended up being perfect for us as we spent most of the time exploring the island. The guesthouse was full of anything we needed and the yard was beautiful. Perfect for our weekend getaway!

Absolutely adorable little guesthouse! Secluded location. Private covered patio looks out over beautiful yard and koi pond. Hosts were super nice and very welcoming. House was well stocked, clean and comfortable. We would recommend this property to anyone looking for a cozy get away from the resorts and busier parts of the big island.

You expect an apartment and get a whole house! The location is approximately 30 minutes south of Hilo, the house is beautiful with wooden floors and really spacious! You will find everything you need! The hosts are very friendly and helpful! The surrounding garden is spectacular, as well as the koy pond! At night you will enjoy a concert of frogs and birds from the nearby forest, the whole garden is lit by electrical torches and you will even call a terrace your own! We enjoyed every minute at this location and would immediately book it again!

This was really one of the best vacation rental house experiences we have ever had. Jeff and Jennifer were so kind and accommodating, and the location is gorgeous. The house was extremely well stocked and we were happy to find a few snacks on our arrival as well. Would 100% recommend and will hopefully come back for another stay sometime.

Well-appointed guest house on a gorgeous property. Very clean, super quiet, beautiful porch/outdoor area, kitchen has everything you could need, bed is very comfortable. Was just myself and my husband this trip, and the space was perfect for the two of us.
Location is convenient for getting in and around Hilo and Hawaii Volcanoes National Park, along with local beaches. We met the hosts here and there while coming and going, they were awesome, very friendly and had good suggestions for the area. There's info in the house about just about everything you could want to know - we chose several restaurants from the list provided and they were great.

Wonderful Guest house with relaxing setting. During our short stay we enjoyed dinners/breakfasts on the patio with soothing sound of the pond in the background. Well appointed with everything you could think of.
Thrilled to have a cooler to use for the long day trips to Volcano National Park and Black Sand beaches. And a backup snorkel mask as well.
Easy access, insightful host with great suggestions based on experience in the area.

Jeff and Jennifer were so accommodating and awesome. Arrived from Oahu at noon and allowed us to drop off luggage at VRBO so that we could then return to Hilo Town to do a lot of shopping.
After three days of early morning to late night days at UH Hilo, coming to Jeff and Jennifer’s VRBO allowed us to unwind, bathe, rest, and be recharged for the next day! The coqui frogs lulled us to sleep and the cool morning rain greeted us when we woke up.
Have to do this two more years and hoping Jeff and Jennifer’s VRBO will be available for us to stay at when those times come around.

This was our first time to Hawaii. We Loved the place soooo much especially my grown up kids. It is beautifully decorated, well maintained and clean. The cottage has everything you will ever need if you just want to stay at property and enjoy the paradise Or want to go out to beaches or volcano. We had full access to snorkling kits, Ice Box, Beech chairs and other things. Kitchen is fully loaded. Jeff and Jen are amazing. They are very easy going and friendly. Both of them do lot of work to keep property maintained. I wish we can also maintain our much smaller backyard like them :). My kids also bonded with them. They gave awesome advice of what to do, when to do etc and are very prompt in responding to chat messages. They stopped us to visit volcano national park in late evening as no activity was going on and recommended us to visit Isaac Hale park. It was awesome drive and awesome location. We would 500% stay here during our next trip. We will plan to come back for seeing Volcano sometime next year. Thank You for letting us stay at your property.

We enjoyed our stay at this guesthouse. We split our overall trip between the Kona side & this side & enjoyed the different vibe here. The property is removed from a town, which we were looking for. Very peaceful. The location was fairly central for spending time in Volcano National Park & seeing the Hilo sites the other direction. Be aware the property doesn't have A/C, which we knew going in so having the windows open is vital. It cooled down quickly once windows were open. The chickens get pretty excited in the morning & make sure you're up to enjoy the sunrise. :)

We stayed at this property in July 2023. The guest house is behind the main property and is very well maintained and clean. It is one large space with living room section, kitchen with 2-people dinette, bed, bathroom with shower, and 2-in-1 washer/dryer. Jennifer and Jeff did a great job of making the place welcoming and we were surprised in the little details. There’s coffee in the cabinets, shampoo and body soaps in the shower, laundry detergent provided, and guide books containing attractions for the area. The property is tucked away and very calming. We recommend staying here and will stay here again in the future. There is no A/C in the guest house but I noticed that is pretty standard for homes in the area. We opened the window and had both fans on and it was fine. All in all, a great place to stay, 5 stars!

It’s a beautiful property, clean and quiet, has everything you need to stay at the Hilo side ( the owner also provides sun creams, shaving foams etc, super nice). The only thing is the bed is not comfortable to us, rather than that, everything is perfect!

My husband and I stayed here for the first part of our honeymoon and we were blown away! Everything was very clean, well stocked, and the grounds were beautiful! Hosts were very friendly, easy to contact, and always chatted when we ran into them! Nothing but good things to say about this place. Also, located conveniently to Hilo and Volcanoes National Park. We simply were not ready to leave when our stay was over.

The property was just beautiful. Love all the trees and the fish pond. With the windows open, the house had a nice Hawaiian breeze that kept it cool. Jennifer and Jeff really care about their guests. They were very insightful on the surrounding area and gave us many tips on things to do. Would definitely stay here again.

The whole property is really a bit of paradise with a koi pond, fruit trees and chickens! We chose wisely by staying there, and if you do, you won’t be disappointed! We can’t say enough positive things about staying here. Jennifer has put together a book of information that was very useful. She also answered any and all questions we had. We ran across Jeff several times talking about the trip, what we’ve done and gave us a few ideas, very nice man! The house itself was spotless and had everything we needed. I am so picky about cleanliness when traveling and typically don’t even like removing my shoes in most places but this place was absolutely spotless. Beyond the place being clean, the yard and koi pond was the perfect location for our toddler to get her wiggles out. We were close enough to Hilo and Volcano National Park depending which direction we wanted to go each day. Couldn’t ask for better hosts or rental!

Perfect in every way! I only wish we had had more time there. Jen and Jeff greeted us upon arrival and were attentive to every need. Jen is an excellent travel guide and will check the weather, volcano activity, and makes great restaurante suggestions depending on your plans. From a well supplied kitchen to a storage locker filled with things you might find handy on your beach excursions, they have thought of everything! My favorite part was falling asleep to the sounds of nature and coffee the next morning watching all the morning doves and other birds while I walked barefoot around the property taking it all in . . . This is truly an island paradise created with love and better than any 5 star hotel experience! I give it a 10 Star Rating⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
