The location was easy to find. Upon entering we were “met” by a Christmas card and a surprise pecan pie. That was a thoughtful treat. House was clean and spacious. The Christmas tree was beautiful and another nice surprise!

Property was well stocked and very spacious.
Hot tub was very enjoyable the boys enjoyed the basketball goal. Very easy to get downtown.
Enjoyed the stay.
One downside was only 2 small bathrooms for eight guests and the carpet needs to be replaced as it is very soiled.

VERY CONVENIENT LOCATION - ONLY 15 MIN AWAY FROM DOWNTOWN ASHEVILLE. CENTRAL LOCATION TO BLACK MOUNTAIN AND SLIDING ROCK - APPROX 40 MIN AWAY FROM BOTH. BEAUTIFUL NEIGHBORHOOD. MANAGEMENT WAS VERY RECEPTIVE AND INFORMATIVE. THE PLACE WAS VERY COMFORTABLE - WE HAD A PARTY OF 6 AND THERE WAS PLENTY OF ROOM.

A group of five of us (plus one dog and a baby) stayed here for a quick weekend getaway to Asheville. We were hoping for something peaceful, cozy, and about 15ish minutes to downtown Asheville. The Wandering Winnie checked all of those boxes and then some. Everything was exactly what we had hoped and seen from the pictures — the place was very clean, the amenities provided were a great touch (full kitchen with plenty of supplies, stuff for smores, the built-in info screen in the living room), and rooms were in great condition. Hot tub, fire pit, balcony were great to have and everyone felt safe, restful, and cozy all weekend. We all agreed that we’d book another stay here for future trips! Highly recommend!

Dated, upstairs bath with hole in wall and broken decor. Leak under kitchen sink. Living room carpet needs replaced. No living room drapes for sliding doors. Bear kept getting into previous tenants garbage. Inappropriate call regarding going out after dark to get garbage can from bear. Very disappointing experience.

Our family of 8 really enjoyed every inch of the house. From the big couch in the living room to the fun game room in the basement. The kids bunk room was so cute and the basement room was perfect for my teen who stays up late. Only a 20 min drive to Asheville.

Great beds, and location for most activities. I have stayed at nicer places, but this place was outstanding for the price point.
The communication was the best I've had in 25 years of renting!!

We had a great time at the Wandering Winnie! The location is excellent and easy to get to downtown Asheville, local restaurants, breweries, and shops. The cabin was exactly as advertised. The kids had a great time in the bunk room and playing on the swing set! Highly recommend and would return!

Wonderful log cabin with all of the modern conveniences and plenty of room that is convenient to Asheville, the Biltmore, and surrounding areas.

Family Celebration
The house is great. Listing is very accurate. Response from the management was very good. The house was very comfortable for seven people. The kids (and adults) enjoyed the games. Location was good to drive into Asheville. We would definitely stay here again.

We had a great time at the Wandering Winnie. The property is beautiful and the home is as advertised. Lots of indoor activities for the kids and a well stocked house. We will be back!
