We love our stay in River Dance Retreat. The cabin was cute and cozzy. A lot of space indoors and outdoors.

I would like to return to enjoy this site in the warmer spring, summer or fall. The house was very clean and the beds quite comfortable. Lots of space for a group of 7 to stay. The cabin is very accomodating, marvelously located right on the Sandy River and about 30 minutes from Mt Hood Meadows for wonderful snowboarding. We have 9 in our party and meals in the roomy kitchen were the highlight of the weekend. The cabin pales in comparison to the service from Caley and her crew. Just incredibly wonderful service. Stay here, you will not be disappointed.

The hot tub is perfect and the river view is unbeatable. The beds were also very comfortable. We were very pleased! We felt that additional attention to household supplies would have improved our experience. Specifically, the home came with only one kitchen sponge for cleaning dishes and the counters (over Thanksgiving weekend). A couple more would have been useful. A supply of counter and bathroom cleaners (even disinfecting wipes) would have been helpful in keeping those areas clean. We had to run out for laundry detergent because none had been supplied (though the house book says that there is some included). There were only 6 matches in the match box. Overall, it seemed that perhaps the household supplies just hadn't been properly replenished. That being said, the staff responded quickly when we asked them to bring more toilet paper and dishwasher soap. We also found that the kitchen had had some unwelcome visitors between when the house was cleaned and we arrived. While unpleasant, it is not surprising for a house in the forest. The staff responded promptly by cleaning the kitchen from top to bottom as soon as we called. Finally, guests should be alert that the oven is not very large. Our large turkey roasting pan did not fit and we had to improvise with a smaller pan. Not a big deal, but if you are cooking a meal for 10 people, you may be expecting a larger oven and should plan accordingly.

I looked on other booking websites, and came across a recommendation to look at Mt. Hood Vacation Rentals; they offered competitive pricing and were hands-on, as needed. Betsy was super friendly, and asked about our groups' interests; we love cooking together, wanted to be by the river, play games, and watch football. Betsy made a great suggestion when I was looking at a different house; and said that the River Dance was the better fit. She was 100% right! The kitchen was large, and spacious, and had just about everything we could want! We had extra seating in the kitchen for everyone to participate in conversations as we did our meal preparations, and we even had a side table to set up a puzzle that we worked on all weekend! The house really had everything we could want. The added games, hot tub, extra towels, wood, dishes, glassware, soap, shampoo - gosh, they thought of everything! Even great wifi! The beds were super cozy, and plush, and even the bed linens were soft, clean, and I felt like I drifted away each night! It was awesome waking up in the middle of the woods, hearing the hum of the river. It's only a few yards or so from the house, but the seclusion, serenity, and peacefulness was unsurpassed. I really don't have a bad thing to say about our stay, the house, or Mt. Hood Vacation Rentals. They obliged when we asked for a later check-out (1 p.m.), and even checking out was super easy (as was checking in)! I highly recommend Mt. Hood Vacation Rentals, and think that this will be a house that we come back to again and again. If you have any concerns about booking - I wouldn't hesitate! Just do it! You won't be disappointed!

There was no password for the wireless. The guest book did not contain adequate guidelines for the hot tub or any info about the wireless password. The person coming out to the house to work on the wireless was not prompt (either time she arrived). This house needs work. There is no screen on the back door or kitchen door, so bugs and birds are a problem. The dishwasher barely works. There is no garbage disposal, and there was one garbage bag in the kitchen for a four night stay with ten people (I pay for maximum people). The kitchen floor is badly stained and the double doors in the living room do not stay closed. If I stay in an old, non-maintained house, I do not want to be charged with the problems for the house. I was extremely upset to pay regular price and then get charged additional money for the hot tub problems, cleaning, etc. Cece reversed the charges, but I am unhappy that I rec'd a letter with the charges, and no call of explanation. I do not like the way this situation was handled. I also believe I am being over-charged for this house.
