The location is unbeatable! At night there are no road sounds at all, just singing frogs. The campsite smells like mint from the plants that grow nearby. At night you can see tons of stars and count the satellites zipping by while you soak in the hot tub.
The hosts really thought of every detail. There's a camp stove and a French press coffee maker, as well as a huge jug of really good spring water. There is even a little cooler where you can store cold items with a block of ice. The outdoor shower is actually fun to use, provided the weather is nice, which it was. Wifi is good, and there is enough cell service with TracFone to send a text. I can't comment on other carriers.
The road coming in was fine for our Corolla Cross, but it might be a challenge for a vehicle with lower clearance.
The porta potty is... a porta potty.
This is an off grid campsite, so trash management is a bit of an issue. There is a little section cordoned off with an electric fence, and you need to go in there and open a metal box to throw trash away.
None of these things are deal breakers. This was still an absolutely unforgettable place to stay. Just know what you're getting into when you book.

Wir haben die zwei Tage im Zelt sehr genossen. Vor allem die Ruhe! Das Bett ist sehr bequem und das Zelt sehr groß. Es gab zwei Ausflugs-Tipps an die Lost Coast (Needle Rock) zum Wandern und Baden mit Robben ;-), sowie an den Redway Beach zum Baden im South Fork Eel River, beides fantastisch. Für Needle Rock und für die Anreise ist es gut wenn das Auto AWD hat, aber zumindest etwas höher liegt. Ich denke die Anreise zur Unterkunft würde auch mit einem kleinen PKW gehen.
Leider war die Hot Tub nicht verfügbar (defekt), was wir erst am Anreisetag erfahren haben. Toilette ist ein Toi-Häuschen. Das alles war für uns aber nicht wirklich problematisch.

Truly off the grid, hot tub was a nice touch
Concerning to have food or cook cause the critters are close! Nothing a few sandwiches and breakfast in town didn't cure.
