Kalia Beach Hotel Side

The location of the hotel is amazing: first line, the beach is sandy with no rocks, clean, has comfortable chaise longs and umbrellas; 15-20 min walk to the Side city center. The territory, the restaurant and the rooms are very beautiful, the breakfast is the same every day but good. There were reviews about noise from the nightclub but I didn’t hear anything (my stay included Friday and Saturday nights). The room wasn’t damp and didn’t have any smell. The staff is very nice and helpful.

The bathrooms look a bit scary. There was white and grey marble but they coloured it with gray paint which is peeling off now. There was a little problem with lights and electricity, but handyman fixed it very quickly. The air circulation is a bit weird in the place, the top floor (where the double bed is located for 4 people house) air has no movement whatsoever.

It’s very peaceful and calm place, very nicely decorated inner courtyard. The beach is very close and rather clean, very comfortable sunbeds and umbrellas. Breakfast is in a very nicely styled Gua Restaurant. Best rate goes to the designer, as the whole space is done in same very tasteful style. Food in the restaurant for dinner is tasty and nicely served. Also cocktails are tasty and well done

Unfortunately my child could not find anything to eat in the breakfast menu. Simple fried eggs would have been great instead of hard boiled. The bathroom would need rather serious update, in the evening electricity was interrupted as well as internet. So if you need to work during the holidays, this hotel is not reliable. Also the air conditioning is build in the way that only first floor of Quadruple room is cooling. The top level with the kingsize bed stays hot. Also towel holder was not holding and fell down.

Location is great for the beach and easy walking distance to the old town.

The property is nice, basic! The bathrooms let the overall room down however exceptionally clean.

Location was perfect walking distance to town and ruins. Beach was clean. Beach staff and restaurant staff very hard working and switched on.

Kids room wasn’t cleaned out properly before they moved in as there was men’s underwear and a handbag left in the wardrobe. Second night one bed sheet wasn’t replaced so there was a bare mattress.. on the last night our shower head broke off. Mosquitoes in the rooms , I asked reception if I could get fly spray, the boy was taken aback apparently in the years of his service never has a guest asked for such a thing? Breakfast service was weird, too much cheese served per person, no juice offered at breakfast for the kids but 800gr of cheese was ? Although we were at the hotel, I had to pay as I went along, so I needed to carry my belongings always. Booking.com said I would have a massage of 15 per room. This was not mentioned nor offered at the property.
