The place was beautiful , BUT the no AC in July definitely took a toll on us. They CLEARLY stated that there was no AC in the house on the listing. This was not a surprise. I just assumed that with no AC the house stayed reasonably cool and wasn’t needed. That unfortunately wasn’t the case. The house was incredibly hot and we really struggled to get any Airflow through the house. I think some screens on the double sliding doors would really help with that. Given that we saw a black bear on the drive in, and there are obviously a lot of bugs in nature, we didn’t want to just leave the doors wide open with no screen. It was so hot the second night, we had to sleep in the basement on chairs and couches. It was a little rough. I really don’t like leaving negative reviews because the hosts were awesome and they really took care of the house, it was amazing! I just personally wouldn’t go back in summer for the reasons I listed above. I would absolutely, 100%, rent this house again in the fall, winter or spring. You wouldn’t even need to go to Cherry Springs, the views from the deck were breathtaking on their own!! Again, I hate to leave something “negative” about the house when the hosts so clearly put their heart and soul into it. I just also want to prepare people if they’re going there in summer. It’s no joke, that’s all. Thank you Ben for sharing your home with us and all future travelers, enjoy, the house is incredible!!

My brother and his wife stayed here last year and we visited them a few times during their stay. They had great things to say and the house was so beautiful that my boyfriend and I decided we would rent it this year. We absolutely love this place. The views are amazing during the early mornings and late at night watching the stars. The house is very clean and homey. And there is plenty on games for the kids to stay entertained. Ben was wonderful with communication and very easy to get in touch with. If I could recommend this place to everyone I would! We will be back again! Thank you Ben for having us!

Do not know where to start. Everything was perfect. The house was beautiful and everything was as described. My family of 5 went there to see the stars and just relax and that is what we got. You can just go out on the balcony to watch the stars or wander about 10 minutes away to Cherry Springs State Park. We were up early every morning to just sit outside on the deck with a cup of coffee and enjoy the scenery. Breathtaking! House was stocked with all that is needed. Clean and comfy. Just a short 20-30 minute drive into town for groceries and such. Plenty to do in the area. Ice Mine in Coudersport and Lumber Museum are a must visit. We went hiking at Leonard Harrison State Park and Canoeing at Lyman Lake/Damn. Make sure to stop by Fezz's Diner for a bite to eat. The house has a guest book filled with all the highlights of the area. Do not let the weather scare you away. It seems to change for the better quickly. Communication with the owners was positive too. No problems just a question but they answered quickly. All in all a wonderful experience. As we will be looking to go back again I would definitely recommend. No hesitation.

I was disappointed in our stay. The photos make it look as if you are in a quiet serene secluded location. You overlook two properties watching your neighbor mow. There wasn't a place for a comfortable outside fire- had to set in the driveway. We arrived a bit early with cleaning staff setting in her car and then we're scolded by the owner because she needed adequate time to clean She was in her car and was finished. Obviously had raced through and then blamed us. We were required to contact owner upon arrival and departure. All made me feel unwelcomed. It took weeks to get the deposit fee which was enormous. Definitely not worth it!!!!
