Overall it was a great stay. The location is a bit of a drive from most of the tourist activities, but that was great for us. Peaceful and right across from a beautiful beach. The house was nice, the beds VERY comfortable and the grounds lovely. We always had beautiful birds and several iguanas around and a fun group of monkeys that sometimes stopped by in the morning.However, we do have to disagree with the listing statement that mosquitoes aren't really a problem there. They were terrible! Even after lathering ourselves with Deet, and using the citronella candle and insect burner we found at the house they were still so bad we didn't even use the beautiful balcony in the evenings. Maybe our timing was just bad, but that was our experience with the mosquitoes. Then there was the Halloween Crab mating migration! It seems to only last a few days, but in that time, hundreds of them come over the road at night to lay their eggs. It was really fun to see, and took a little creative driving not to run over them if you were coming back after dark! Unfortunately dozens of them ended up dead in the pool daily. If we wanted to use it we had to remove them, which was a smelly and time consuming process. So, between the crabs and the mosquitoes we barely used the beautiful pool. We still loved our stay - but wanted to give fair warning to others planning to be there around the same time of year! It was a lovely place and we had a great time!
