The location was great. Getting bags anywhere in Old Town is a chore. These lovely people helped us walk out our bags when it was time to go. I got heat exhaustion the first day in Dubrovnik. Our host helped me in several ways. I was sick in bed for a few days. I was so grateful that I had a comfortable, clean place to recover.

Dubrovnik is over-run with Game of Thrones enthusiasts and tourists in general. The only way we could figure out to beat the extended heat wave and the crowds was to get up before sunrise and go out. Then the city was nearly magical. There is far too much activity later in the day, all day and into the evening to take in the feel or charm of what is there. The other thing is there was a World Cup Water Polo tournament that went on for a week. This meant that for 10-12 hours a day there was near constant referee whistles blowing and a super loud announcer blasting over loud speakers. The room is close to the event. This is no fault of the hosts though. I found the crowds to be completely overwhelming. If you too are sensitive to this consider a short duration then get out to other parts of the country and enjoy better prices and more authentic experiences.

Very nice and fully equipped apartment in the centre of Dubrovnik. The owner is very kind and attentive.
