Our family of nine (six adults and three children, ages 5–8) stayed here for five nights in July 2026.The highlights: The decks, especially the upper one, have spectacular views and became our favorite gathering spot. The three-level layout gave each family privacy, and the location is perfect for visiting Mars Hill and the Blue Ridge Parkway. We also hosted extended family for a cookout, and the outdoor space and fire pit were ideal. Communication with Mighty Tree was prompt and responsive throughout our stay.The biggest disappointment was that the home did not match the listing photos, which appear to be outdated. The basement game room was much more worn than pictured, with matted carpet, scuffed walls, and the advertised video game missing. The twin bedroom also felt unfinished.We also noticed signs of deferred maintenance, including worn finishes, loose door handles, an occasional sewer odor in the downstairs bathroom, and what appeared to be a bullet hole in one window. Within the first 24 hours, we dealt with ants in the kitchen, water leaking from the upstairs bathroom into the main-floor ensuite, and a foosball table that was too unstable to use. To Mighty Tree's credit, they responded quickly and addressed the issues within a day.Overall, the location, views, and layout are excellent, but the home's condition did not match the expectations created by the listing. We would rent again if issues are addressed.

Initially, I had not planned to write a review due to the state of the house being influenced by events beyond the owners control but their response to our stay has been frustrating. Here is a copy of what I sent to the rental agency.Hey, I hope you all had a Happy Thanksgiving. There were several issues with the house that you need to know about. 1- the smell on the basement level. It is bad and probably the result of the pipes that burst the weekend before we came. It was bad enough that people move to sofas and the two couples that slept downstairs did so with blankets and open windows. 2- the sheets on the downstairs king bed have been used so much they have pilled. Need to be thrown out. 3- the floor on the lower level was sticky 4- the downstairs toilet (in the half bath) will not fill the water in the tank unless you manually push the ball down 5- several lamps placed where there was no outlet to plug in and several lamps without the knob to turn them on 6- there is a soiled set cushion that was there when we arrived- we forgot to get it in the trash, it is in the front porch 7- the door to ½ bath on the main floor is coming apart, the front side gets caught on the frame and start to pull off.8- we were able to get the upstairs gas fireplace going, but it went off after about an hour and unable to restart (propane tank empty?) 9- handles missing on cabinets 10- FYI no kitchen supplies downstairs. The house is in need of major TLC.
