What did I like? First of all the beautiful people at UMVA making us feel at home in a country that's not our own. The food! Yum. We had the place to ourselves for one night and then more people arrived the second - we enjoyed the communal dinner & other guests' company. The view from our room was incredible too. We tried out the tennis court as well - a bit different to the courts back home but still so much fun. Then there's the kayaks, paddle boards etc which we used to take ourselves around the lake itself and do some people-watching around the shores. All in all - if you're looking for a peaceful retreat where you can read a book & find some inner peace, this is for you. Everything was clean and the service received from UMVA was lovely. Competitive rate to get to and from Kigali in an all electric SUV felt nice.

There is a pool, however it was half empty whilst we were there. We didn't mind too much as we could still peddle our feet but a bit more water would have made this a 10/10 stay.

A wonderful 24 hours at Umva. It’s such a peaceful place, you’re unlikely to be disturbed by anything other than bird song! I would highly recommend the bike tour with Jado, who is an excellent guide.

Our stay at UMVA Muhazi was one of the highlights of our trip to Rwanda. The resort itself is peaceful, beautiful, and the perfect place to unwind, but what truly made the experience unforgettable was the people. Every single staff member was warm, welcoming, and genuinely kind. A special thank you to Medi, who went above and beyond throughout our stay. She was always smiling, incredibly helpful, and made us feel so cared for. Her kindness didn’t go unnoticed. One of the things we loved most was the communal dinner every evening. It brought guests together in such a natural way, and we ended up meeting some truly amazing couples from different parts of the world. Those conversations, shared meals, and laughter added so much to our trip and created memories we’ll always cherish. UMVA Muhazi didn’t just give us a place to stay, it gave us an experience. The hospitality, the atmosphere, and the wonderful people we met made Rwanda even more special than we imagined. We would absolutely recommend it to anyone looking for a unique and heartfelt getaway.
