Minna was the only staff member this late in the season (or when I was there) She was very friendly and knowledgeable about the surrounding area and a wealth of knowledge. Staying at the Raattee Guesthouse felt more like visiting and staying with friends. Granted it's simpler than a modern hotel but I both knew and wanted this - and having that understanding I knew there were no TV in the bedroom, and enjoyed the "vacation" from it :D I will come and stay again, likely in a quiet part of the season - since the peace and quietness was pure re-set from the noise of bigger places. A+ overall!
I can't think of anything I didn't like. For some - be aware that there are no grocery stores or shops closer than about 25min drive away, like at Suomussalmen kirkon kylä (with a grocery store that will have a decent selection) Otherwise Ämmansaari/Suomussalmi will have most needs covered - like hospital, several grocery stores etc. Distance - roughly 40km or so (25 miles)

Aamiainen oli runsas ja hinta-/laatusuhteeltaan hyvä. Erikoinen paikka ja mielenkiintoinen historia. Rajavalvontatornista on upeat maisemat.
Vuoteet olivat liian pehmeät omaan makuun.

Halusin vain nukkua, oli hyvä sänky ja saunaankin olisi päässyt jos olisi jaksanut. Aamiaisen sai tilattua 07.00 koska halusin. Erittäin avulias nainen ja näin myös museot(sota historiaa)
Nettiä ei ollut yläkerrassa mikä oli vain plussaa jos haluan vain rentoutua.
