Fantastic hotel. Cannot recommend this hotel enough. Had the pleasure of a 5 day stay here. The rooms are spotlessly clean. Fabulous bathroom with shower, separate bathtub, and separated WC. Excellent fitness facilities that we made full use of. Location very good and easy to travel from to get to notable landmarks in Seoul. I am a regular traveller and I look forward to returning to this hotel. I won’t be looking elsewhere for my stays in Seoul - it will always be the Shilla Seoul.

I reserved a room for three adults, and one child, and then, when I arrived, I was told that the room only had beds for two people. The staff agreed that the reservation was confirmed for four people, but it only had two twin beds and I asked them where were the other human beings sleep? They just stared at me. My wife had the same conversation with them in Korean and they just stared at her. I was then told me to pay for two extra beds with a daily charge. I had already paid additional person charge. It made no sense at all.

**"Overpriced Disappointment: Claustrophobic Rooms and Poor Service at Shilla Seoul"**
My recent stay at Shilla Seoul left much to be desired. Despite paying a hefty 30 percent extra for an early check-in at noon, I was greeted with disappointment. The room was claustrophobic, and to add insult to injury, the heating/air conditioning didn't work properly, leaving me out of breath and unable to sleep properly.
To make matters worse, when I ordered dinner, it arrived a staggering two hours later, highlighting the hotel's sluggish room service. The hotel's incompetence was further highlighted when I attempted to navigate the streets using Google Maps, only to discover it didn't function properly in South Korea. The hotel staff's lack of knowledge left me lost and frustrated.
Overall, my experience at Shilla Seoul was an overpriced ordeal, marked by cramped accommodations, sluggish service, and inadequate amenities. I would caution anyone considering this hotel to think twice before booking.

The executive lounge provides the best quality food and beverage in Korea, in comparison to the similar five star hotels, such as the Lotte and the Four sesons
And all the crew of the Shilla are commited to their customers such that anyone who has visited once wants to come again to the Shilla
However, the gym is too small to have the given equipments and the room is a little out ot date, having some old temperature coditioning system.

parking has big problem ! We rent a car , one day . There is no parking at all . All full ! And we are informed to drive down to the B8 lowest level of the paring , but there in no spot at all . We need you to check it and give us the deed back .

I stayed here for three days by myself, and it was superb. All staff there were exceptionally attentive that I felt highly luxurious hospitality. My favorite parts of the hotel were the view of Namsan in the room, and the gym; the gym staff was very informative when I asked some advice. Only downside was that it is not quite pedestrian friendly; it is slightly long distanced to access the public transportation. Even so, I will love to stay here again next time.

*They asked me to take off my underwear in the sauna section. This is such a stupid thing…!
*Sauna service is not included in the room prices..!
You have pay extra…!
* excessive rules are boring..!
* There is Section 3 in the pool. One is for members, there are swimming lessons in one and you can swim in the other
Even if other sections are empty, they do not allow you. To swim in that empty place

We enjoyed our stay however check in time was uncertain as there was a waiting list to be checked in Swimming pool was overcrowded. So much extra charges and overpriced food menus amazed us. Staffs were not attendant. Room condition wise, lower your expectation as much as you could. The temp control doesn’t even work properly. We had to triple layer our pj’s to keep us warm. When I called the concierge, they said it was unfortunate we had a cold night and asked if we wanted a heater sent up in late August? Some staffs had absurd customer service manners. Curtains didn’t drape.. and noise couldn’t be blocked from the hallway.. could go on and on. However, some staffs were extremely professional and polite, and we had fun night at the swimming pool so can’t complain.

Service was some of the most efficient i have ever experienced, especially for a big city hotel. And the grounds were more like a resort where they had just about everything you needed in house. They were very accomodatiing.

Thank you for a wonderful stay in Seoul. All the staff I met made me feel very welcomed and cared for. Exceptional hospitality and service.

The hotel felt pretty old and dated. Room conditions were poor, scuffed walls, water stained tabletops, and chipped wood. The air conditioning in the room was very weak, unable to dehumidify during the summer. The hotel hallway were musky and humid as well, with an unpleasant old smell.

The Shilla is a fabulous hotel in a great location! The service is outstanding. From the very moment we stepped into the lobby, we were taken care of. We experienced fantastic communication and care in every aspect of our stay. We also enjoyed the duty-free shops next door.
One thing to mention that wasn't initially clear to me is that the indoor pool is a smallish lap pool and not suitable for soaking or general use (its just for folks to do laps). If you want the pool experience, I definitely recommend upgrading to the outdoor pool, which is luxurious and family-friendly. The service at the outdoor pool was also, as always, top-notch. I will be staying at the Shilla on all future trips to Seoul!

This is an extremely high class building. It would be a pretty decent honeymoon hotel. Everything is beautiful and pristine, including the people. As a pleb, I felt a little out of place. This place is designed for people who are looking to spend money. For example, the breakfast buffet is 80000 won ($66), and there are a number of high end designer brand stores on the premises (Hermès, …etc), and access to the outdoor pool is $60 per day. The dinner buffet was 180000 won ($144), but it was easily the most impressive spread I’ve ever seen, including giant snow crab legs, Peking duck, and roasted lobster tails. The downside is that there is no affordable food on the premises, and there is not much commercial activity in the immediate vicinity (though there are some quite nice areas if you’re willing to walk 15 minutes or take a subway). There is also a very nice and affordable cafe “Haus” which is a ~6 min walk down some steep stairs.

VIP lounge is worth it if you hang around the hotel when vacationing. Really lovely service, good breakfast, tea snacks are a bit weird, great happy hour.

The Shilla is one of the premier hotels in Seoul and a pleasure to stay. Staff is friendly, helpful and truly reflect the quality of all that is Shilla. When in Seoul, this is our go to spot. No regrets.

Every thing was top notch. Staff was well trained and friendly. Towel was more plush and the bedding was more comfortable. Most excellent stay. I cannot imagine a better quality hotel.

We love staying at the Shilla. Its level of customer service is exceptional and very similar to the Park Hyatt in Tokyo, however a lot cheaper. Everyone you see at the hotel is attentive and caring, and you always feel that you are being looked after. Their spa facility and massage are also great. I recommend this hotel to anyone who stays in Seoul.
We shall be back for more Shilla stays when we are back to Seoul!

Large hotel and Tax Free Shopping Centre on a hilltop, with great views of the university campus and telecom tower on one side and the city on the other.
There are no shops or restaurants nearby, so you have to travel further each time.
The restaurants in the hotel are great, but very pricey. The sauna, plunge pools, outside pool & changing rooms are only available to the top room type guests and to outside customers who join the health club. The gym is accessible, but has no changing facilities; the indoor pool is accessible, but has a tiny changing room with one shower and few lockers. Great service, but a very large and busy hotel. Taxis are needed to go anywhere and, if you are coming from the subway station at the bottom of the hill, it’s a long, steep slog up. They do have curtesy hourly and half-hourly buses to 2 shopping locations in the city.

Very nice hotel , locations is good , staff nice , a bit older but definitely a classy place to stay
