Desk service was very helpful in getting a taxi and where to go locally. The room was large and clean with good AC, fridge, microwave. Restaurant and pool on site were great.

6 of us stayed 2 nights before sailing trip. Great rooms, restaurant was also good. Views terrific from pool.

We loved our stay! The staff was super helpful! Great breakfast, wonderful mattress, nice travel sized shampoo/soap/lotion. They had several things for purchase at the front desk like a razor for $1.50 (which also had a mini shave cream), drinks, deodorant. It is up on the hill so you do need to taxi to get downtown but there is a bar and grill right up the hill (wouldn't advice people with small kids or elderly to try this walk- we did it as mid 30 yr olds and it will put your legs to work) and it was great too. Overall, I'd definitely come back.

We had a wonderful time relaxing and enjoying the pool, food and drinks at Hotel Mafolie. The staff was was great from check-in, at the bar and at dinner. And you can’t beat the delicious breakfast made-to-order. We will be back.

We only stayed one night at the Mafolie, to break up our travel to St John. From the very start, the staff was fantasic, as were the views from the pool and some rooms. We were greeted so warmly by Elizabeth at the front desk, who was able on this particular day to give us a choice of three rooms including a junior suite, at the price we booked. The property is on the hillside, so a number of steps between several levels. But she helped with our baggage. I enjoyed a beautiful late afternoon swim in the pool, perfect after the long flight. The dining room is closed on Tuesdays, but she recommended a very quaint restaurant just up the road (beware that while the walk is only 10 minutes, it would be advisable not to do in the dark; the restaurant gave us a free ride back to the hotel after dinner). Breakfast was included at the hotel, in their fantastic ocean view dining area. This was a full service cooked breakfast! Great start to our first day in the USVI. We would definitely return to this hotel!

Great views, wonderful staff! Rooms are basic, but clean. Bathrooms a nice size but could use a renovation. Great for a one night stay and a great value!

Hotel hours are 8 AM- 8PM. No efforts were made to account for our 8:15PM arrival. It took an hour to have remote staff arrive to let us in our room. Not what you want to have happen after a long day travel. No coffee was available anywhere on premise for early risers until the restaurant opened. Very bare bones room. Only redeeming quality was fantastic view and good breakfast.

If you want to avoid the resorts and like a unique place to stay away from the crowds, this is it. Mafolie is fairly centrally located on St Thomas so it's an easy drive to all locations, not that anything is more than 20-30mins away. It's a mountainside hotel so lots of hills and stairs but I he views are spectacular. We stayed in one of the lower "bungalows" in the property overlooking a main road so it can get noisy but the privacy and views made it a good tradeoff. Restaurant has great food and the made-to-order breakfast menu included in our stay was well worth it. Definitely recommend for those that want a place to stay and have convenience to get out and explore.

Incredible view. The bed was comfortable However the room and furniture were dated and well worn. The TV was not connected to the internet.

Super cute little place that has everything you need! Close to everything in town if you feel like doing a little shopping & close to beaches!!

The only downside is that if you have difficulty walking or climbing stairs this place is not for you otherwise our visit was excellent! Our room was lovely and clean and the staff were extremely pleasant. The view is worth the stay and we had a lovely balcony!

The view is excellent! The staff is friendly and the female bar tender was exceptionally nice. The problem is that there are sidewalks and the drivers speed around corners and curves with little regard to people trying to walk. The hotel advertised free breakfast, but that is only for one day. It would have been good to have several outside areas in the shade.

Very nice view, however, was on a very busy street, so we could hear traffic all night. Also, had no water one morning so we could not shower! Only other issue was that being up on the mountain, you are far from everything. And, taxis are so very expensive!!! Would not stay here again.

If anyone likes a great with a pool and breakfast with a great view then Mafolie Hotel is the place to stay and relax.

Okay, if you're looking for the Hilton or some other 5-star place, you're probably lost. This is a smaller, locally owned and operated, quaint place on the hill-side overlooking the bay. It was clean and pleasant. Downstairs is a restaurant with good food, great drinks, and plenty of folks to visit with around the bar.

The staff was fantastic made me feel really welcomed they even bumped me up to a delux suite. I was impressed since this was a surpprise anniversary trip for my wife. The view from my room was amazing, the restaurant view was even better and the food was fantastic. The staff was super helpful. Love this place we will be back.

i really enjoy the staff, friendly helpful. the service was great over all. however, the room can be upgraded a bit. the bathroom door we had to lift up to open so it don’t drag and make noise. the bed are way to soft for my liking. thru out the night my body would sink in. but room service came everyday gave us extra towels. the place is nice bc you are paying for view. it is amazing especially for dinner. but also prices for dinner for 2 were little pricey. you can go downtown and get cheaper good food too. it deft has its pro and cons. for my first time at this hotel enjoyed my stay and took in view. but now knowing staying here you need taxi EVERY WHERE. it’s best to say downtown and save alot of money of taxi

Overall I enjoyed my stay here. The price was right and I was even offered an upgrade. The rooms are definitely not the nicest, very outdated and let’s just say the ceilings are thin enough to hear exactly what the couple above you are doing. All in all, I enjoyed my stay and had a great diner with some good drinks at the bar, which has an incredible view. I would go for the restaurant, but probably wouldn’t stay again.

Pros: AMAZING AMAZING views from all parts of the hotel. Nice pool with good view. The included breakfast is quite hearty and lots of choices. Cons: Hard to get around if you are old or disabled...lots of narrow steep passageways and stairs. Was a dead huge cockroach in our suite. Also, I did not feel safe with the front door lock (weak) and patio doors (locks broken).

We arrived today from Florida. We had reservations at an Airbnb. We arrived to no power. I made a reservation online for Mafolie. When we arrived, they had upgraded our room. They were very kind and welcoming. The room was wonderful. We ate at the restaurant and it was delicious, with an amazing view. We will definitely stay here again!

Nice place but our air conditioner was making so much noise at night and didn't work very well it actually woke me up making me think there was a storm outside so I got up and looked just to find out it was just there air conditioning.the views are unreal and staff was great

The condition was poor at best.After checking at the front office, then making way to my room upon opening my door there was a big Roach next to my bed.The pictures on the travel web doesnt represents the true condition of the property.

My wife and I stayed at the Mafolie Hotel in St Thomas from October 4th through October 13th 2023 celebrating our 20th wedding anniversary. Most of our vacations have been at all inclusive resorts, so one of our major concerns when booking our vacation was meals. On the Mafolie website it states "Complementary made to order breakfast" is included with your stay. I called the Hotel and they verified that cooked made to order breakfast was indeed included. So of course when we arrive for breakfast on our first morning there are english muffins, yogurt, cold cereal & a do it yourself waffle maker, not exactly a "Cooked to order breakfast." We were upset after counting on this! So then we were told that they might have breakfast the next morning. Well no, the next morning we were informed that we will not be receiving our breakfasts, that were included and promised during our stay. This also happened to several other guests and their children who couldn't eat. Quite frankly we were lied to and ripped off. BE WARNED!
