The bed was terrible

I have stayed here a few times as my son is in RPI. This is very near everything, the place is very clean and the staff very nice. You can walk to the town, it's about 5 minutes. There are restaurants near to eat. The only one thing was the coffee, I couldn't get a strong enough, even though they have a lovely coffee dispenser in the breakfast room, all the coffee tasted the same, even the espresso. Otherwise a great stay!

I actually came around 10 pm at night they was very welcoming and understanding about my bus being late. Every time i went down stairs the staff was really friendly. Overall I have no complaints my experience was good.

We stayed for 5 nights.My daughter and her family spent 2. For all that money we spent, I felt like it wasnt worth it.No extra "hey good morning again, how can I make your day type of thing. The worst though was that the dining was so incredibly limited. and not really any suggestions

Great location wonderful staff and amazing breakfast

Nice and clean.

Very convenient location. Nice walk along the river. Staff courteous and pleasant. Only issue , we arrived to town early and asked to be checked in, we were informed there was a 65$ fee for early check-in. This was 1:45, for a 4pm check-in.

Perfect stop for a bike trip down the Empire State Trail. They let me bring my bike into my room and the breakfast in the morning was incredible. It’s just across the river from the trail and has lots of food within walking distance. I can’t not mention how perfect the service was during my stay. I was transitioning from camping along the trail from Buffalo to Albany, to staying in hotels on the way to NYC. I wanted to ship my camping stuff home so I didn’t have to carry it. The man attending the front desk went over and beyond to help me out. Including finding and building a box for me and offering me packaging tape. It made it so easy.

Our room didn't appear to have been vacuumed because when we got there, we found a candy wrapper on the floor near the bed. No one cleaned the room during the weekend so we didn't get clean towels and ran out of body wash. We had to request clean towels and body wash from the front desk. The beds were incredibly uncomfortable, very hard. The hotel staff were all pleasant and helpful. We did not complain to them, because we didn't think that there was anything that they could do to remedy the situation. Free breakfast was blah, the pancakes were weirdly chewy and had a strange texture and odd whitish-yellow color. They were inedible. We have stayed here before and did not encounter these issues previously. What was really frustrating is that we paid over $700 for two nights - a price that was jacked up considerably from the usual price, I am guessing because it was move-in weekend for RPI students, plus there was a wedding there. So I feel like we did not get our money's worth from this stay.

Nice property, really close to Rensselaer. Bunch of one way streets, keep an eye out. Worried there wasn’t enough parking but they had an excess lot so worked out good. Place is really nice

Staff is great.

The stay was OK but the breakfast was really NOT good. Probably the worst breakfast I've had. If you are considering booking the hotel because of the free breakfast- DON'T. Also, the room was clean but the bottle of body-soap in the shower was empty and the room smelled bad. I left the window overnight and the next day the smell was gone.

Nice stay but overpriced

The Best Western great location across the Green Island Bridge from my stay for a wake and funeral the next day in Waterverliet. Hotel right off 787. There was a full house Thursday night due to a wedding (and possible another event). One guest (who I did not personally) was with the wedding party. He complained that his bed was broken and completely on the floor. He said he looked on line and it said there was King-sized bed available. However there was not. Both the guest and the hotel reservations clerk were clearly frustrated. She was not the manager therefore powerless. The next morning at breakfast guests that were in his party asked him if he got a solution to the problem. He in a sarcastic tone state “yah, three hours later”. Unfortunately as a fellow guest I witnessed this. And a few other check-ins. I know good help is hard to find these days, and working with the public often the guests are rude. This woman was doing the best that she could under the circumstances that she was the ONLY one on the desk. Where they had a full house this weekend, the day shift or night shift manger should agreed for the desk to be covered at least by two.

My kids and I needed a place to stay in the area and this hotel was perfect. Checkin was fast and easy. We walked to a restaurant right next door. My kids loved the breakfast spread also.

The breakfast is good but bed is terrible and hard. Pillows are tiny. Room is outdated not like picture and price way too high.

When we arrived to the room, the room smell humid, the staff from the front office had to provide me a deodorizer, in top of that one of the bed sheet was dirty and had a stain. I reported it and they told me that they could only provide me a gift card from Target, that I haven't received. Not a good experience at all.

The hotel and check in were quite nice, and the desk clerk was efficient and friendly. Our room, however, was near a large electrical unit that provided air conditioning for the entire property. I ran constantly through the night. I barely slept.

The breakfast was amazing, our room was crisp and cool when we got in from the heat, everything was clean. Would stay here again.

Basic hotel. Beds, shower. Adequate.

My husband and I came this way to Troy to visit family in Albany as we had two bad experiences with Albany hotels in the past. The property looks clean. Check in was easy. You get breakfast which is the standard, many choices. Rooms were clean and had a fridge plus a hair dryer. Bathroom very clean including floor, water pressure great. Dogs are allowed! There is a laundry in this hotel very reasonable price, came in handy as our flight was cancelled and we had to stay longer before we could get out. The staff is very friendly and helpful. We had to extend our stay and they were able to accommodate! There was even a power outage for an hour (city outage) and the staff fortunately had breakfast ready to go. They placed lanterns in the breakfast area for people to serve themselves. In the summer you can see the Saturday farmers market from this hotel. Beer garden across the street and a BBQ place. Walking distance you have every kind of cuisine you could want, Moroccan, Venezuelan, Indian, Chinese! Will use this hotel for future visits! Thanks for a great stay!
