I arrived at 1:30 pm. I was told that check-in time was 2:00 pm and was not allowed to go to the hotel room. Completed the paperwork for check-in and waited in the lobby with my luggage. At 2:01 the reception clerk then presented me with the room key. I was a little disappointed as all of the other hotels in Brazil where I stayed on this trip also have a 2:00 pm check-in policy but allowed me to check-in a little early. The hotel is clean and modern. It has reasonable prices. Hotel is conveniently located in the city center. Good free breakfast buffett.

Everything was above average! The ladies at front desk were superb and very informative! Kudos to Laura and Annie. The rest of the staff was also friendly and professional!

The hotel was a good price, and relatively comfy for what you pay for! The bed was comfy, there was plenty of storage, and the room was decently clean. I really really liked the big minifridge with plenty of storage. Wifi and A/C worked well too. Where I'd improve: design of cabinet is such that it's easy to hurt your fingers opening the door, room service opens all windows which is nice but mosquitoes can come in, found hair on my "clean" towels, faucet in bathroom didn't work great, and staff didn't allow overnight visitors which was kinda annoying. Overall stay here if you want to save money but don't expect a perfect experience.

Centrally located very close to the sea and market. Nice area to walk by. The staff is always polite and friendly. The only area which can be improved is breakfast. There is a huge variety of pastries and no vegetables at all.

Staff was nice, hotel was good, even though the room was a bit small and you could hear the noise from other rooms or of people coming and going. The hotel is located downtown, but during the weekend the area is dead and you will need a car to get around.

Very lively and cosy environment. Very much in the center of the city and has great restaurants around. Delicious breakfast is a plus. You won't regret staying here.

Every time I returned to the room I had to reboot the television cable box to get channels, otherwise great!

This is a great hotel and I would recommend it to anyone. It is close to several shops and restaurants. The nearby coastline has plenty of activities and the best restaurants. The mild downfall the that is is a little far away from the beaches.

Our only problem with this hotel waste,lack of eating places within walking distance at night. Otherwise great hotel

Great central location with easy access to shopping, eating, waterfront and bus.

The room was clean, the staff was great and attentive. Rates are very reasonable, but as to be expected the rooms are small and provide very limited closet space. Sink was very slow draining however we did not complain or call maintenance to address.

Very clean and has a lot of English speaking staff.

The hotel is conveniently located in downtown Floripa. I appreciated the sophisticated, yet warm decor. The room was somewhat small and the bed could have been steadier, but the facilities were clean and comfortable. The breakfast was quite complete. The staff was professional and extremely helpful.

Downtown is not my first choice of locations when staying in Florianopolis. I would much rather stay in one of the beach communities on the north or east side of the island. However, since I was traveling in the winter and the beach areas were dead, I chose to stay downtown for the first time. The best locations downtown are along Beiramar, walking distance to many restaurants, bars, shopping, etc. These are also relatively expensive hotels, by Brazil standards. Porto da Ilha is a smaller, boutique hotel located about 5 blocks from Beiramar. You can get any where downtown in a 10 minute drive, and there are some good restaurants and bars within walking distance, and a large grocery store less than a block away. The room was small but adequate, clean and well maintained. They have wifi access in the room and computers available in the lobby if you didn't bring your own, and 24 hour valet parking. Overall, no complaints. They had a couple staff members that spoke English as well, but overall I recommend knowing some basic Portuguese before going to Florianopolis because you will definitely go places where English is not spoken by anybody. On a side note, there are many sushi restaurants in Florianopolis and most are subpar at best. The best sushi I've had on the island is only a 2 block walk from Porto da Ilha and is called Kikoni.
