Overall quite a good stay. But visiting as a couple it felt a bit busy/messy with all the kids in the pool and area surrounding it. Food and band-aid floating around in the pool. The pool also closed at 7pm which I think is quite early.
There was another pool area, ‘Level’ which was a VIP-area with less kids/no kids where you had to pay an additional fee to access.
Also, the spa treatments such as ‘60min traditional Balinese massage’ are in my opinion quite a lot more expensive compared to other places at Bali. 1,000,000 IDR instead of 130,000-350,000 which are the prices outside the resort for 60 min.
However, we are more for boutique hotels - so maybe this concept (big resort with all-inclusive option) is just not for us.
On the plus side: nice with tennis, gym and other activities. The restaurants were pretty good and the breakfast buffet was huge. The restaurant by the beach was very nice during the evening.

It’s an older property, which we weren’t expecting. The highlight was the lagoon pool that our suite opened on to. The beach was lovely as well. The kids club also had a lot of activities. Vegetarian food options were very limited although what was available was delicious. Service was inconsistent. Nevertheless, we enjoyed our stay!

Excellent hotel but breakfast poor. Slow service for tea/coffee due shortage of staff. Food on buffet cold. Also slow service at restaurant by the pool.

Meliá is a jewel. Beautiful , calm and zen. Extra praises for the housekeeping team, those that keep the gardens and greens well trimmed, those that make sure the corridors are not wet and slippery, forever with smiles on their faces and warm greetings from them . Not forgetting the team of dancers and musicians at the lobby and in front of the breakfast area. However if only they can change the breakfast menu… from 23to25/2.. same menu .

The property is very old. It’s acceptable but the food and service at the restaurant is just terrible. Breakfast is blend and I have flies all over the fruits even in the fridge. Every morning a cappuccino would take 30mins despite ordering it 5-6 times yet they can ask u over and again hot or cold. My entire team had to walk over to next door Laguna for dinner every night simply bcos of really bad food in our hotel

Meliá Bali retains the old Bali traditional style and charm with a stunning entry lobby water features and well kept grounds.The staff are all very friendly and helpful.This was our third visit. We however felt the rooms were in bad need of an update especially bathrooms and showers. The touches that would be expected in a 5 star hotel were sadly no longer present. We would happily return as we have sentimental connection but only when rooms are upgraded. We hope however it retains the traditional style into the future.

I would like to express that I had one of my absolute best vacations experience ever in the Melia Bali. The property is good, the food is good. But the true magic is the staff simply the best I have ever experienced. Thanks for a great vacation.

The meticulous maintenances of the property , the unrivaled courtesy of the staff on all levels , the breakfast w great food selection, … make the experience strong reasons to return and endorse to friends
The elevators need air conditioning especially w suck crampness.
The green rug at the lobby need to be fixed with its folded center portion that can cause falls of unsteady walking

Excellent location, great landscaping, plants, pools within hotel area. Big size. There are a lot of nice hotels nearby. Great shopping and restaurants area in walking distance.

Melia had great service, good food choices, excellent accomodation at an affordable price. I would return time and time again. If you have a young family, the organised kids activities and daycare are fun.

The hotel is in beautiful well-kept grounds. The staff are very helpful. Breakfast was a bit of a free for all. We had a slight issue and this was resolved very quickly with the management team.

This was everything you would expect in a Bali resort- amazing and authentic cultural pieces . The service was phenomenal and spa was great. It was just before the holidays so dinner reservations were tough- wish we'd known that ahead of time- but what we had on site was really nice. We'd go back !

Spectacular grounds. Loved listening to the birds in the mornings from our balcony. The staff is very helpful and cheerful, always smiling and respectful. We enjoyed our stay very much.

The grounds are beautiful and the kids club is excellent, best we’ve ever seen. We stayed in a family suite and it was nice. The rooms are getting a bit dated now, particularly the bathrooms. Myself and my son both got sick from meals we had in the hotel. The staff were lovely. Slower service in the restaurants but around the pool very quick. Would recommend to families.

Extremely courteous staff, smiling always and willing to help. Quality of food and drinks at the restaurants was superb. Perhaps need to offer more vegetarian fare on the menu.
The breakfast becomes a bit monotonous. Could be changed around a bit. The Indian fare on offer, considering the number of Indian visitors, was very minimal and could do with refreshing and updating at least once every 2nd day.

It was in a really good location and the staff were really trained well so the service was impeccable.
Breakfast in the morning was good varied but the same menu daily so after a few days felt quite boring.
They have more attention and emphasis to their level members and so if you were not part of it you had a different level of service.

Place was great will definitely go back . Maybe steer clear of the grilled seafood platter in the lotus restaurant though. Got sever food poising after consuming and spent the good part of my holiday sick in bed .

AC isn’t powerful in the room. It helps. Could be more stronger making it pleasant to sleep. The facilities are lovely, lots to do inside the complex if you want peace and quiet. Nice breakfast with many choices.

We had a fantastic stay at this hotel. We booked a pool side room but we’re upgraded to a beach side villa. It was absolutely fabulous. Just wish we could have stayed longer. The choice of restaurants were excellent. The Spanish restaurant and buffet were both very good. The staff were very pleasant and extremely helpful. We really enjoyed the hotel grounds, hotel garden and animals.

Had a lovely stay at Melia. Upgraded to the Level family which I think is essential to fully enjoy the experience. Otherwise there are large sections of the resort that you do not have access to. The floor of my room - 3321 - was very dirty. My feet were black if I walked around without shoes on so this needs improvement. We booked a day tour to Nusa Penida through Melia but feel that we did not receive any information that we would not be leaving from the main marina; but rather with a smaller private operator. As a result the trip over was longer and very bumpy which made us nervous. We were also not prepared for the crowds, congested roads and poor sanitary conditions of the toilets on the island, so the tour desk needs to properly prepare guests with more information. Otherwise we really enjoyed our stay. The staff are so lovely, and apart from the cleaning issue mentioned, do an amazing job.

We travelled as a family with our two teenage daughters. The Meliá is a large hotel but the service from all staff was incredible. We were made to feel very special and on a number of occasions the F&B Manager, Sulandra made visits to where we were dining to ensure we were satisfied. The food at each establishment was excellent with our favourite being the Japanese restaurant. The activities on offer were good fun and again the staff/instructors were fantastic. We would recommend the Meliá whole heartedly and look forward to returning soon.
