The hotel is old, the housekeepers are not friendly and they are always in a hurry. You can’t Pay credit or debit because the machine is too old. And they don’t like you yo pay with cash. So, I will not return to The Peninsula. And I don’t recommend it

The facility is old, the housekeepers are not kind,, they charge you the towels for a coke stein, when they don’t have staff for help to clean a broken glass of coke. And also it was impossible for us to pay debit or credit, because the machine is old too.
I really don’t recommend the hotel, there are better options at South Padre Island

The hotel was nice. We spent 2 nights with family. The beach access is perfect. The pool is clean and large. The staff was friendly and check in was fast. The only downfall was i had zero wifi access which was desperately needed.

No food, no breakfast, very dirty with mold.stayed 2 nights then got another hotel. I think homeless people live there. The pool looked ok.

So heres an honest assessment:
The facility is nice, parking is a bit strange, the rooms are definitely for people using the beach/pool (the couch is made tk be satnon with wet clothes presumably). If you get the king bed option, there are three rooms, two are located to either side of the office (kinda weird) and the "balcony" is like facing a high foot traffic area with no barrier. The pool area is beautiful, and proximity to the beach is cool. If youre staying with kids on vacation and want beach/pool time ots definitely cool, but for couples looking for a nice room, eh look for better options given the price point compared to other hotels in that range. Overall not a bad experience.

This was a clean and comfortable hotel right in the beach. Everything was perfect. Beautiful pool. Convenient restaurant. All staff is multilingual.

Loved their mix drinks in the pool water was warm walked to the beach from the hotel really delicious breakfast room was really clean i could see the ocean and the bridge really nice view day and night, do recommend to stay in 6th floor.

They provide exactly what they say. Every room is a suite, balcony and right on the beach. The best mai tais on the beach. On point cleaning and stocking the room. Oh and that pool and jacuzzi. Bar none awesome.
The mediocre. It feels like it missed it by that much. Offsetting all that spaciousness was a tub that needed to be replaced and a shower rod someone tried to do pull-ups on.
All in all. I rate this a solid 8.5. They work and that pool is just amazing. Attention to detail could get them one more level up. But who wants snooty??
Give me this good room with these hard working people every time.

The staff was awesome. The room had a bad order. The parking lot is not well lite and I didn’t feel safe walking to the hotel at night.

They charge for everything the parking is bad, too noisy, hallways smell, restaurant wasn’t even open when it should have, jacuzzi didn’t even work.

First and foremost front desk dude was awesome… the breakfast wasn’t good, definitely wasn’t any better having to pay an extra fee for bacon and egg? On top of paying to eat breakfast. My experience there wasn’t great.. the first few times I’ve stayed were amazing.

this is the 3rd time we stay at this property this year and the hot tub does not work, when asked about this the staff says they are waiting on a part to be delivered to fix the issue. once the beginning of the year then during the summer and now in October. ongoing issue. pool was cold and hot tub was colder!

Overpriced, paid for continental breakfast that only included 2 pancakes cereal and toast. Very disappointed.

Look No Further.....honest review here, I was skeptical about staying here after reading some of the reviews , however, after a 3 night stay I can say the location is perfect, you have a wooden boardwalk that leads to the beach, a bar and restaurant....great views of the pool and ocean, everything was nicr and clean. Staff was professional and courteous....overall appearance of the resort was welcoming and clean....I honestly don't see where any of the bad reviews came from.

The price is super affordable and location has nice access to the beach. The rooms are also look fairly nice and the staff were very friendly. However, there were a number of issues. 1) The washer/dryer didn't really work. I found this out the hard way and had to air/blowdry my clothes (going to wash them again anyway). 2) There was water constantly on the bathroom floor. Not sure if it was condensation from AC ducts or a leak somewhere, but it was super annoying to walk into a puddle in the middle of the night. 3) The AC was not working very well. Took 2 hours for the AC to drop room temp by a few degrees. 4) Doors both in the unit and outside were extremely loud when opening/closing. Kept getting woken up by people. I guess this isn't uncommon in hotels but it felt especially bad here.

Overall, a 3/4. It was clean, friendly staff and easy to find. However, as two females traveling alone, I felt a little uneasy because it’s a little run down and our door wouldn’t shut. They accommodated us well and gave us another room. Just didn’t get much sleep.

Excellent hotel w/beach access. (2) Pools were amazing, great bar/food service. Umbrellas w/chairs available for rent on site or you can take your own. Snacks and mini bar available in rooms for $$.

Terrible experience, the room was dirty,no ac,nothing like the pictures,there was no wifi,couldn't call front desk since the lines were down. The lady at the front desk said the lines were barely down yet people from matinance had said it had been down for 2 weeks. Worst stay, waste of money and get no refund. Waste of both time and money. Didnt even stay the night and had to book a different hotel.

Phone dosent work, ants on the room bathroom , they said they could fumigate but we would smell it all night so they changed me rooms so it was inconvenient.

1st room was not good Wi-Fi refused to connect, dresser drawers did not stay shut daughter scraped her leg, room door was hard to open and close properly. We were moved to another room that was better but did not have the partial view we wanted.

It is ok but hotel room old ... wifi dont even work even we tell staff .. bath tub has rust and toilet dont even flush right chair in room old almost fall when we sit hallway at elevator no light at night so dark to walk 1 of jacuzzi at the pool not working .. well it not worthy the price i pay sorry wont be back

The room smelt of mold and the bathtub is full of paint chips. The door lock was hard to move, as if it completely rusted to the point you couldn't turn it. Service wasn't bad, the pillow had some faint black stains and I suggest to put more pillows in the rooms. Hard to share one bed with another.

No microwave in our room?? The parking lot is so far away and they don’t let you get close to take out the luggage and they should throw away the luggage carts because they don’t even help a bit. Also the pool was really dirty.

Service was good but for the price of the room it was not worth it. Room was small and hotel is some what outdated.
