The Marlborough Dedham

Overall our one night stay was very good, location and food was brilliant, the only complaint we had, was the mattress on the bed was awful, it was lumpy and we kept falling into the middle, we did tell the staff on leaving, hopefully this will be addressed immediately. Would stay there again if in the area.

Absolutely perfect, great staff, beautiful room

Such a beautiful and cozy place. All staff were polite and very helpful. Food was lovely. Room was beautiful and very clean but... there was a steep and awkward staircase to get to the rooms which wasn't mentioned in the pre-booking information. We saw several people struggle with this, as did I. It wasnt a dealbreaker but i feel its worth mentioning. Also the double bed was so hard neither of us were able to sleep much, and had achy joints the next morning. Overall, it is a lovely place to stay and eat and we were well looked after, but these two things are the reason for a 4 and not a 5.

Considering the age of the property, dating from 1456, the rooms were beautifully modernised whilst keeping the original features. All the staff were very friendly and helpful, the food was excellent and I honestly can’t fault anything. The only negative was the heat but nothing anyone could do about that!!!
