Charming hotel. Unique, clean and well appointed room.

An incredible walk back in time. The Windsor Hotel makes you feel like you are staying in a vintage old western hotel but with modern amenities. The staff was very knowledgeable and pleasant. The bed was comfortable and the room was very quiet. Worth a trip through Del Norte just to stay here.

Many upgrades, like elevator and keyless entry make the stay comfortable along with a great shower and comfortable bed.The front desk was very helpful in explaining about the oldest hotel in Colorado and also making recommendations for dinner and breakfast. The dining room is only open a few days a week but there are good choices in town. All rooms are on 2nd floor.

The good: Beautiful spacious room and friendly front desk staff. The bad: Boiler was not working properly so guests had no hot water for showers. The hotel did not offer any discount for that major deficiency. Our room along main street was very noisy with a lot of truck traffic. It was also located above the main entry door which sounded like it was being slammed every time it closed. With better maintenance of the mechanicals such as the boiler and main door closing mechanism, this would be a great hotel.

Wonderful historic hotel beautifully restored. Rooms were very comfortable & large. Everyone who worked there was very nice and helpful. Restaurant was excellent and Wednesdays were half price bottles of wine. Delicious!

This was a very nice surprise in the small Colorado town of Del Norte. Hotel has be en beautifully refurbished. Really recommend the restaurant for dinner!

Cleanliness and staff of this hotel is outstanding! The history of this most unique hotel and its history of restoration is fascinating as well. Its inhouse restaurant is a must to dine in. The service and cuisine is remarkable as well, with most of the food provided is raised or grown within this valley region. Menu items are pricey but we never have any regrets from dining at this hotel. This was our fifth time to stay at the Windsor Hotel.

Nice restored property in the middle of town.

forgot to take our key in the morning when loading our car. We were locked out and had to call the phone number....no answer so we left a message. No return call. Thank Goodness the staff (Rita) heard us knocking. We do remember being briefed on the key situation for the evening but not ever in the morning. Thank You Rita!!

The Windsor is an historic renovated hotel and they did an incredible job. It was clean and very comfortable. The room was very spacious with high end touches, the beds comfortable, and the climate control excellent. We ate at the restaurant downstairs for dinner and it was amazing. Everyone was friendly and helpful. I highly recommend staying here

We booked super last minute as we were driving through the area and it was getting late and we weren’t going to make our original destination. I hadn’t noticed check in was 3-8, the manager called me within 39 minutes of making the reservation and asked when we’d be arriving and made sure we had all the information we needed for a late arrival. Our room was clean and comfortable and hotel was very quiet. Poked around town the next day, which was really cute, everyone was super friendly. Wouldn’t hesitate to stop here again if we’re in the area.

An 1874 hotel refurbished for the modern era. Lovely town, lovely people, live band in the courtyard. A very unexpected find. This hotel has loads of personality and charm with high ceilings and a respect for the original architecture and design.

We absolutely loved our stay at the historic Windsor Hotel. Clean, spacious, comfortable, and with lots of interesting historical information about the hotel to read. Would definitely stay here again.

We had a wonderful stay in a classic and beautifully restored hotel. The room was very comfortable. I especially liked the full length original windows.

I would happily stay here again. The reception desk closed at 8:00 pm, which I did not know. The door was locked at that time too. They called me when I hadn’t arrived yet and told me that my key card would be in a lock box. The code was sent to me. I am very appreciative of that. This historic property is beautiful and comfortable. I love that the soap was locally made and lavender scented. The coffee was locally roasted and delicious. I also liked that there was a drip coffee maker, rather than the now popular “kuerig” style machines so often places in hotel rooms. There is a bakery next store, a coffee shop across the street and a couple good and friendly local restaurant within a short walk. I was sad that the restaurant in the hotel was closed when I arrived. It looked amazing. Del Norte is a pleasant town and within a short distance of the parks and refuges I visited.

the historic hotel was refurnished I heard about 2012 and I appreciate the details around ceiling light fixtures and so many other touches. It was a comforting feeling that makes me want to seek out other historic hotels. The bar was especially kind in giving me a complimentary soda with bitters to comfort an upset stomach. Super flexible and kind folks own and run the place.

A place with character, not cookie-cutter hotel. Clean, friendly, helpful. And thank goodness, not a dozen pillows that are all the same. You have a choice in the type of pillow that works for you!
