Es difícil de encontrar por taxis, está a un lado de un terreno baldío, muchas hormigas, las toallas y sábanas con manchas. Había un aparato que hacía demasiado ruido abajo del aire acondicionado.

Great place to stay. Close to anything you need in escazu. There’s a local bus stop directly in front of the hotel that makes it very convenient to get to the Coca Cola bus station easily. The view from the hotel is very beautiful and even better from the 3rd floor area. Will stay here again.

For the cost it’s perfect

Don’t let the outside fool you!! It looks like it is shut down/closed. But just go to the door and ring the bell. They will let you in to the most beautiful place. The big door scared the crap out of me. Looks like a haunted house out front but it is just the door that opens at a beautiful palace!

An ok place. Nothing to brag about. Only one other person there the night we stayed. AC worked but not very well. Very hard to find as front just looked like a gated home. Good view of the city.

We stayed in one of their smaller (and cheaper) rooms, but it had a spacious bath, good shower, lots of closet space for luggage, TV, fridge. And we had a nice dinner on the open terrace on the upper level.

Very nice place, room was very clean, helpful staff that speak English, excellent breakfast. I suggest the typical Costa Rica dish. Will say Stay here again when we return.

We use this hotel for overnight stays normally related to airport pick-up and departure. Staff is friendly, parking secure and location quiet and reasonably close to the airport. It is also across from our favorite Indian restaurant. Price in season is as good as off season. If you are simply looking for a clean comfortable room with breakfast, this is it. If you need amenities with frills, this is not it.

Staff pleasant and caring. Breakfast was excellent with ample choices. Great location. Close to dental office and shopping centre.

This is a great hotel for the price. Clean, modern and comfortable. Also a good location. Walk to Taj Mahal Indian restaurant or a quick drive to many more restaurants.

Small but comfortable room with balcony and view over the city. The weather is cool in San Jose now so OK with fan and window open ..... during warm periods could use some A/C

Very hospitable, very clean, very nice staff. We stayed at the Marriott as well and the experience wasn’t even close to the one we had at Out of Bounds. After experiencing Costa Rica for 12 days, are party all agreed that the main stream hotels aren’t the way to go. this place was our favorite smaller hotel we stayed in out of the 4. Very, very, very nice people. Close to a safe area in the San Jose area with shooing and food within walking distance. We will be staying here the next time we come. Thanks Out of Bounds for an awesome time.

I was not told before I arrived that my room did not have air conditioning. There was only a ceiling fan and some windows which when open left you with absolutely no privacy. I am allergic to cigarette smoke so it did not help that my neighbor stood outside my cracked window and smoked constantly. The picture of the hotel is a bit deceiving because the hotel is not well lit, therefore, single women it is a little spooky returning late at night and waiting on the sensors to turn on the lights as you go up the steep walkway. There was no parking lot, only 2 car spaces inside of the gate that was facing the street. The gate opened upon your arrival if it was within office hours, otherwise you would have to use the key to unlock a side door to enter the grounds. Uber had a hard time finding this location so make sure you download Google Translate to communicate and get rides if you do not speak Spanish. There are no shops or stores close by and the street is not conducive for walking. The staff was nice but they had a very limited breakfast menu. As a matter of fact, they did not serve any type of meat for breakfast and there were several ants at times that were bothersome. I think the stay could have been better had I been more prepared and familiar with the area and especially if I had air conditioning.

Great boutique hotel, comfortable and affordable, highly recommend!

They made my time very much like if I was at home, comfortable and a place to come back to.

The rooms were nicely furnished and made you feel like you were in a spa. They prepared a nice fresh breakfast in the morning and there was a coffee maker, iron and refrigerator in the room.

I was coming in on a late flight and leaving very early the next morning so I wanted a hotel that wasn't too expensive. I would normally stay at the Luisiana in this case but decided to give Out of Bounds a try based on the reviews. The owner was very nice and very helpful but the room was disappointing. The sheets were very old and frayed and felt a bit damp. However the mattress was comfortable and the shower was great, good pressure and hot water. My main problem was no coffee, either in the room of available from reception. I always choose a hotel that has either a coffee machine or coffee available from the lobby. The room had a coffee machine but no coffee so you have to bring your own. Not a problem if I hadn't been coming in on a late flight and I had known about this in advance. I left at 6.45am and breakfast didn't start until 7.30 so no coffee was available there either. Also I was disappointed that there was no Wi-Fi....I did tell the owner the next morning and he said that there must be a problem with the router and I was the second person to experience this in that particular room!
