A Wonderful Stay at Eastcoaster Resort, with a Few Minor Hiccups
Rating: ★★★★☆
My recent stay at Eastcoaster Resort, specifically in Maria Villa 4, was a delightful experience overall. The fantastic waterfront view from the villa added a touch of tranquility to our getaway. The cleanliness of the rooms and the efficiency of the staff contributed to a comfortable and enjoyable stay.
The highlight of our stay was undoubtedly the picturesque view from our villa. Waking up to the waterfront scenery was a treat for the senses, and it truly enhanced our overall experience at Eastcoaster Resort.
The resort offers a range of facilities, including two pools—one indoor and another outdoor. While the pools were well-maintained and provided a refreshing break, I found the early closing time a bit inconvenient. It limited our evening relaxation by the pool, and I wish the timings could be extended to accommodate guests who prefer a late-night swim.
The on-site restaurant was excellent in terms of service and food quality. However, the early closing time (7.30pm) posed a challenge for guests who might want to dine later. Having more flexible dining hours would undoubtedly enhance the overall guest experience.
One aspect that needs attention is the games room. Although it's a great addition to the resort's amenities, the broken air hockey and other games were a disappointment. Additionally, the lack of signage indicating the non-functionality of these games led to an u

We stayed for 4 nights. Rooms were not cleaned during entire stay. Had to use same bath towels for entire stay. Even 1 star motels would have better room service. Never expected such pathetic room service from a 4 star resort.

We have stayed every Xmas for the last 10yrs, we have visited the resort for the last 25 yrs and it has gradually gotten worse. Each year we say it will be our last Xmas, however we have family in the area and a lack of other choices. Over $350 a night for 4 nights, more then a 5 star resort in a capital city. The room was not even serviced once. Nothing special done as it was Xmas, no acknowledge of our years of patronage. The pool and spa should have been replaced years ago, yet they have built new rooms. The basketball and tennis courts are full of weeds. The games room was covered in bird mess. It was easy to book through wotif rather than direct, it was cheaper and didn't need to pay until we checked in. It used to be a great resort and if I was paying half the price I would not have expected it to be better. But $350 a night, it was clear to see why Xmas Eve and Xmas day there was only 7 other rooms in house. Do better, look after locals, look after return guests. Replace the spa, redo the pool.

Way OVERPRICED for what you get! 1 small pot & one fry pan that was scratched beyond recognition is all that’s supplied to cook with. Salt & pepper were both empty. Dining table was lopsided. The couch was filthy. 2 bowls & glasses but they were different sizes? The shower was disgusting around the base. Curtains were paper thin so there was no chance of a sleep in! Do NOT RECOMMEND!

Limited reception (9am - 5pm), no daily room service. The windows and door blinds do t provide full privacy. Bathroom fan was very dusty.
The good thing is there’s a restaurant nearby with great view & nice food.

What a fantastic little spot. We were so surprised about all the amenities as we had not had a lot on our tour of Tasmania and so we loved it when there were so many convenient dining options right next door and so affordable and enjoyable! All the staff were fantastic and friendly! The room was fantastic and very clean. The only negative was the kettle which was filled with rust and can't have been safe.

Our family stayed there for the weekend and we enjoyed it. Staff were lovely, and our cabin was great. Clean, modern, and a great size.
My one complaint is the no extra towels rule. Which is frustrating when the kids had to use the same one towel each for showering and getting out of the pool all weekend.

Good facilities and things to do in the resort for families, indoor pool, spa, tennis court. Need to put up a basketball hoop as was broken when we were there. Would be great if large outdoor pool was heated a bit. Takeaway pizzas from restaurant on site are handy and affordable. One twenty minute walking track, and would be good if longer, or more options.

Perfect option if you are planning a morning ferry over to Maria Island. Rooms is a decent size and there's a restaurant on the property. Not much else around unless you go over by the ferry.

No breakfast available on Mondays, Tuesdays and Wednesdays.
Not even a breakfast box available to purchase

Lovely location provides easy accessibility to surrounding areas of interest. Like the picnic tables located on the waterfront , not happy with guests who choose to sit at the tables outside of rooms and talk loudly until 2:30 am. Overall a peaceful, pretty place to stay.

Thoroughly enjoyed the stay here. Had stayed there years ago and the refurbishments look great. Nice sized water view room. Staff are very friendly.
Downsides: gym equipment is very old and the seafood restaurant didn’t have a large range of seafood on offer.
Overall a great place to stay.

The Eastcoaster Resort had good facilities to use on site. It rained for a whole day on our trip, It would of been nice if there was an area that our families & kids could of hanged out instead of bunched up in a hotel room together like a family communal area or something. The pool was a bit small for a big resort with many guests. I was hoping to use the gym also whilst here but very small area with not much equipment.
Our room only had 4 towels for 2 nights / 3 days for a family of 4 and no extra garbage bags either which was a bit of a pain having to go get some from the reception. Apart from those little things, it was a nice little area to get away to with the family. The food was reasonably priced and very good meals.

Great spot not too far from Hobart. Kids enjoyed the pools, game room and fishing off the jetty. Restaurant was also great we will definitely be back.

The water view suite had plenty of space though I would prefer to have a window in the bedroom to having separate rooms.

We had a wonderful two night visit, wished we had booked longer. Very comfortable and spacious villa. Weather was not kind but the swimming pool & spa went down a treat with our grandchildren. Enough of a break in weather meant they could use play equipment. We totally relaxed & felt on holiday. Dined onsite one night & cooked the next night. Practical amenities, sufficient cookware, washing facilities, two bathrooms for two bedrooms. Brilliant view of water and enjoyed watching the mist and rain move across the landscape. Very picturesque.
