Host very friendly. Good facilities. Room comfortable but small. Great breakfast.

Really good value hotel. Very clean. The room was quite big and the bathroom appeared quite recently appointed. The only setback is that the single glazed window (which is period for this property) didn’t shield much of the noise from the road, and the lovely big 4 poster bed creaked a lot. I found wearing earplugs was really useful. But that’s because I am used to silence where I live. The hotel was only about 15 mins walk from the centre of town and you can take a shortcut along the riverside walk. The hotel car park is also free ( big bonus). I would definitely stay again.

As I have business in York occasionally, I am happy to have found The Lighthorseman, as it is comfortable, friendly, serves good food and drink, and moreover is not too distant from both town centre and my main event venue! And my most recent visit only confirmed the impression gained on previous visits.
