Could be a lovely place just lacks the care and maintenance. Room was dirty and needed cleaning

The place was nice and quiet which was nice however there were some safety and comfort concerns. There were no fire extinguishers in the room and none of the appliances have had their electrical test and tag done since 2016. The air conditioning also did not work and when I reported it to the staff nothing was done to fix it.

I liked waking up to the view of the pool and garden area The carpet and entrance tiles had been updated, nice colors. Bed was comfy and pillows. Good size room with extra setting inside and on the balcony. The restaurant cafe serves Indian dine in and takeaway, I love Indian curries and Nan bread. What i disliked was A heap of males crowding the front entrance to the reception, standing around talking, i had to go through the cafe, as i could not see the entrance. When arriving late at night in the dark it makes it very difficult to see signs. Many smoke butts outside on the ground of the reception entrance, looked rough neighborhood. bathroom requires updating, much wear and tear. Someone tried opening my door through the night, maybe they had the wrong room? People opposite were out on the balcony and were noisy for many hours. Could not find a remote for the cooling, was a switch on the wall beside the bed. No bedside lights, main switch on the wall, The room was very warm and stuffy. Big sliding glass door and windows to the balcony.

Room was a good size however the door did not shut unless slammed, we booked for 3 people and only 2 towels were supplied. The second bed also didn't have any blankets, only a sheet

Cigaret burns in the blanket. Leaky air condition. Bad door locks. Over spilling showers. Very poorly maintained and overly priced.

This motel provides full service including a lovely Sri Lankan cuisine restaurant that also happens to be very flexible for other tastes!

Very happy with services and safety Bathroom and bedsheets clean Bakcimy and carpets need a deep clean and eating utensils need a look and overhaul But good service and value for price charged Recommended

So I booked this motel in a hurry due to a rushed trip to Dandenong,all we wanted was a bed and a shower for the night ,upon booking I went back and read all the reviews and started to worry what had we gotten ourselves into 😨!!! Upon arrival I walked into the reservation desk and was greeted by a very friendly gentleman who gave me our key and directed me to our room . Mentally I was now in panic mode .... What was I about to walk in to !!!!! Yes it needs a coat of paint ,yes it's slightly outdated and maybe someone should rehang the drapes lol but it was all we needed and it had clean sheets ,clean towels and was generally clean ... Only thing I would suggest is bring your own pillow ,they are quite thin 😊 But of a rest and we decided it's time to eat ,let's go to KFC it's easy and close we thought ,then I remember they had a restaurant so I popped back to the reservation desk and asked about their food $20 per person buffet sri lankin food ,well omg never tried it before but hey I love hot food ,it was beautiful!!! The service was fantastic,they were so concerned to our needs bringing icy cold strawberry and mint drinks !!!

Absolutely the worst place ive ever stayed in

The room was dirty and very poorly equipped. Sheets on the bed with one blanket folded on the bed, no spare blankets. Faulty swith on the jug. Vanity cupboard door hanging off. Stains and burn hole in the couch. Someone came knocking on the at 8.30 to enquire if we were leaving that day.

Terrible experience at the place. The room is extremely rundown. The bed was terribly uncomfortable. Everything from the kettle, toaster to the toilet is old, smelly and dirty. Would never be back!

Check in quick- room clean. Hotel is worn down but clean. Only 1 thin blanket provided, not enough for warmth-had holes in it. Of 3 bathroom lights only 1 was working. Sliding door had no lock and couldn’t close the whole way.

Well presented renovations

Excellent rooms, clean and comfortable. All the staff are very welcoming and helpful. The other guests were good people too, respectful. Very happy with our stay and would definitely stay there again. I found this place on the Internet and it was the best choice. Thank you to all the helpful courteous staff.

Absolutely love our stay at the Sandown Regency, exceptional service. Food at the Sri Lankan restaurant The Bungalow was to die for. I'm definitely making this place my favourite so far and cannot wait to go back. Strongly recommend this amazing place

For couples and families all ye round

The accomodation is conveniently close to Dandenong. The room cleanliness was very poor. Carpets and walls dirty and stained. The bench top hadn’t been wiped down and the bathroom hasn’t had a proper clean in a long time. The whole place is in desperate need for renovations. The price is very reasonable and the pool would be a bonus in summer.

Constant metal noise at the door throughout the night

The room had a funny smell, cockroach’s all over the room and no towels provided. Remote had oil all over it from past tenants. You definitely get what you pay for.

There were cockroaches crawling all around the room, we could not stay the whole night because we were so disgusted.

No cutlery. no wine glasses. no information on the area. only one blanket on the bed. air con not working properly. tv and air con controls never been cleaned for germs. had to lift all our luggage up stairs and we are 82. sorry but will never stay there again.

They need to take a lot more care with their cleaning. Opened the main cupboard only to find dirty socks and a used towel from the last guest. A half drunken shake was also left on the table on the balcony.

Wew went down to Melbourne from Sydney for a few days and stopped over different hotel/motel. The room in Sundown was extremely dirty, loads of rubbish under the bed. Celling light had no bulbs. Kettle was so dirty we dare not use it. One of the bed's frame was damaged. Bath room was old and dirty. We decided not to have bath on the day. Toilet brush had no container. The receptionist was nice and was the only good thing of our stay.
