We've stayed at two other hotels in Gonzales and decided to try La Quinta this time and were pleasantly surprised. The condition of the hotel is much better (the beds were comfortable), the breakfast was better, and the services was just as good. The parking lot was packed full with people having to park on the grass. I guess the word got out.
My only complaint is that in the middle of the night I was woken up by the sound of the custodian's cart going down the hallway (my alarm was set for 6AM and it was well before it went off); it was loud enough to wake me and lasted long enough to keep me awake. I appreciate the work that goes on while we're asleep, but could you please find a quiet cart??

The property was good, but breakfast was poor. Coffee was cold and the breakfast options were few if any. Comfortable pillows, bed, and clean bathroom. Check in and check out was a breeze.

Clean motel . Inop refrigerator and room hvac. Main hallway was cooler than room. Told staff but was told to give it time to work. Well it didn’t, told staff at check out. They didn’t seem to care. Will Virbo for cottage next time.

Arrived a bit before 4 PM and was told no room was ready, even though checkin is at 3. Went back at 4:20 and was given a room that was already occupied. Then were given keys to a different room that was still being cleaned. And wouldn't be ready till 5. Other than that it is a nice place to stay.

More attention has to be given to cleaning the bedrooms. Towels didn’t look clean. They didn’t have tea bags for people like me that doesn’t drink coffee.

Horrible customer service by the staff. Anything additional we asked for (clean towles, extra pillow) it was an automatic “no”. On more than one occasion we got an eye roll, they were having a problem with the room keys working properly and they seemed annoyed with us that we couldn’t get access to our room and were asking for help. AC in rooms doesn’t work very well.

the hotel itself is great for the $$. however, the front desk person was less than friendly. no greeting, i had to tell her i was there for my reservation, she with little to no words gave me a key to a room for handicap im NOT handicap. i then asked her for a room at any of the upstairs floors to her response, "NO" without looking into the computer or checking anything just a NO. very disappointed with customer service.

This is our chosen hotel when we go to the area to see family, etc. We could tell a marked difference since we were here last (before the pandemic). The hotel was newish back then. Now: Bathroom fixtures needed repair, towels had stains, mildew was evident, there was hair on our sheets. But a/c was great and staff was nice. Still likely the best option in town.
