The Golden Frog Inn

Golden Frog Inn was one of the highlights of our Panama trip. The property is absolutely beautiful, peaceful, and surrounded by lush mountains. It truly feels like a hidden retreat. Our room was clean, comfortable, and had beautiful views. The food was excellent, and breakfast each morning was fresh, delicious, and plentiful. Every member of the staff was warm, welcoming, and genuinely cared about making our stay enjoyable. One thing to know before booking is that the inn is located high in the mountains. If you’re arriving after dark, the winding roads can be challenging, especially if you’re unfamiliar with the area. I highly recommend arriving before sunset so you can enjoy the scenery and have a much more relaxing drive. My only suggestion would be to heat the pool. It’s in a gorgeous setting, but during our stay the water was too cold to enjoy. A heated pool would make it perfect year-round. Overall, this was a wonderful stay. Beautiful scenery, outstanding food, exceptional hospitality, and a peaceful atmosphere. We’d absolutely return and highly recommend it to anyone visiting El Valle de Antón.

The breakfast was amazing with really good coffee and fresh fruit. The hotel is well situated to quickly go in town and near other hotels to get drinks or dinner. The onsite hike was an amazing view for little effort. The staff was super friendly and very helpful. The hotel connected us to a driver and to a guide to hike Cerro Gaital, which we highly recommend. The restaurant (Volcanitos) had great cocktails and good food. The happy hour specials were a really good deal too. We really enjoyed our stay and for the price this hotel is a can’t miss.

I love it! It was clean, the staff was friendly and surprisingly spoke English very well, which was great for me as I’m not a Spanish speaker. The grounds were so beautiful with butterflies and hummingbirds all over the place. I didn’t go in the pool, but it looked very inviting. The complementary lemonade was great. The breakfast that was included went way beyond my expectations. It started as a continental breakfast, which was pretty standard, but then you can add your choice of other entrées as well. My pancakes were great. The rule from the room was spectacular. The bed was spacious and comfy. The bathroom was large and European style if you know what that means. I would definitely go back again on any future trips that I make to the Valley.

Pleasant stay. Everyone was very nice. Dinner and breakfast service was slow as they never checked on us. Views were beautiful and it was clean. There are some cats that hang out there and get on furniture if you are allergic to them.
