Overall is clean and comfortable except the inconvenience of shared bathroom. Prepare to cook yourself as there is no restaurant nearby.

istoric building that’s absolutely delightful in all respects except one: it reeks of tobacco odours that are so foul and overwhelming that my sister and I had to wear an N95 mask to sleep because we didn’t want to breathe that air. We also brought our luggage back down to the car because we didn’t want it to stink like smoke. The owner is a lovely woman and we feel bad for giving this review but we also feel compelled to warn others that they will need to brace themselves if tobacco odours are a problem for them. It’s present throughout the building. There were two windows in our room but one was broken and the other one only opened a small amount, so we couldn’t even get fresh air. Needless to say, we left as soon as we woke up. If it weren’t for this I would give this inn 5 stars. As it is, I can’t recommend it to anyone except people who don’t mind strong tobacco odours. Even the towels smelled of it. On a positive note, the location is very pretty, there are many lovely architectural details throughout, and there’s a well-appointed kitchen and a lovely dining room for guests to use. The shared bathrooms were tidy. I truly wish I could say we enjoyed our stay.

It was an amazing rest after a long drive. The host was very nice, place very clean resently renovated, beds very comfortable. Very convenient location close to hwy 62 and lots of fantastuc trails right behind the house.

Stayed for two nights, small and lovely room. Clean bathrooms and a very lovely owner! It was nice talkikg to her. And don't forget Charlie Manson, one of the cats :) Will come back if we're ever again in this area!

Spent the day at Algonquin, perfect location to come back to, large kitchen, very clean bathrooms, comfy room. Lija is the perfect host, made us feel very welcome

I liked the decor and size of the communal Kitchen , bathrooms and guest room. I would like to see access to just a toilet even one outside

Loved this old house! You cannot expect perfection in a hundred plus year home, but we found it to be quite beautiful. The house was clean, the kitchen and dining areas were tidy - with everything you need to make breakfast. Our host was welcoming and informative. There is a former railroad trail that runs beside the property. Nice spot for a walk.

Everything was great except there was a smell of smoke through the entrance and both my spouse and I smelled smoke in the morning and through the night. My husband and Along with the other were coughing frequently through the night. I though I read no smoke and no pets on the premise. Lovely host, gracious, helpful and kind. Lovely landscape. Clean floors, washroom and kitchen. Thank you.
