Great size and location, just what we needed.

The space is very beautiful, amazing location with the street view of the edinburgh castle. Would definitely stay here again if I’m packed lightly as there is no elevator and apartments are distributed throughout 3 floors.

With the price I’m paying, I expected more small details like slippers, body lotion/bathroom essentials, and a coffee machine.

Appartamento situato in ottimo contesto e in un'ottima posizione per muoversi ad Edimburgo, elegante e con un bell'affaccio sulla strada. Dotato di tutto per quello che serve in un breve soggiorno e piuttosto spazioso. La serratura digitale, anche se a primo impatto può non essere così ovvia, risulta essere molto comoda.

Ho avuto un problema nella ricezione dei link per il check-in e non ho ricevuto risposta al primo tentativo via booking e al secondo via mail. Al terzo tentativo, sono riuscito a contattarli tramite chat di booking e sono stati veloci, gentili ed efficienti nel risolvere il mio problema. La pulizia della camera era buona, ma non eccellente in rapporto al prezzo pagato, così come le condizioni dell'appartamento che è molto carino a primo impatto, ma nei dettagli è un po' trascurato (vedi la carta da parati che si stacca in alcuni punti). Un po' costosetto, ma mi è sembrato in linea con i costi di Edimburgo per strutture simili quando ho prenotato.

Location was very good, close to Princes Street, restaurants, pubs and shops, and the view of the Castle from the street outside the aparthotel was breathtaking. The bathroom was clean and seemed to have fairly new fittings. In fact, everything seemed quite new and freshly decorated. The refrigerator was spacious and actually worked very well (not always the case in hotel rooms). The towels were fluffy and soft and properly absorbent.

The bed was way too soft; I suffered backache every morning. The bottom sheet was flat, not fitted, and came away from the corners every night. Because the bed was enclosed on three sides, making up the bed every morning required a great deal of hard work on my part. The shower door was badly hung so would not close properly from the inside. After getting much water on the floor during my first shower, before having my second shower I got my husband out of bed, climbed in the shower and had him close the shower door from the outside. The first morning must have been bin collection day in the car park under our bedroom window, and even from 3 floors up and even though I wore excellent ear plugs, the noise kept me awake from 7 to 8 am. The door lock app we were advised to download did not work, so we had to memorize a 6-digit code to access all doors during our stay. And finally, before my stay I was supposed to receive a message asking me to provide my details and ID; however, this never arrived. I did however receive a "reminder" 24 hours before our arrival, which told me I would not be able to check into my room unless I provided information. I saw the message about two hours before our departure, but the link that I was instructed to click in that reminder had been disabled. In a panic, I phoned JOIVY, listened to the recording and selected the option indicating that my issue was URGENT; however, that made no difference and I had to wait until their offices opened before someone would answer the phone and help me. I find this appalling!
